Prices of textiles on the market have remained stable over the past 12 months. Perpetual Owuo-Agyeman, a textiles dealer at Rawlings Park, Accra, in an interview with City & Business Guide, indicated that prices of textiles have remained stable since last year. She said a half print of Holland Super is selling at GH�170 while Holland Block is selling at GH �120. Holland Gava is going for GH�100 while a half piece of GTP Block is selling at GH�55. GTP Block 2 is selling at GH�48 for half print while the New Style is going for GH�38 for half piece. Half piece of ATL print is currently selling at GH�32 while the Kente print is also going for GH�30. One yard of Woodin fabric is still selling at GH�8.50 while head gears range from GH�7 to GH�15. She explained that �people don�t fancy buying a lot of wax print these days as compared to past years. They would rather invest their monies in sending their children to school or buying parcels of land to put up buildings� she added. Gone are the days when women competed among themselves on the number of cloths to impress others during church services and other occasions. Obiri Boateng, another textile dealer said, �The textiles are there but people don�t have money to buy them. Every body is saying they don�t have money so coming to my shop every morning has become boring.� He called on the government to put proper measures in place to stabilize the economy.
