Otumfuo Charity Foundation Receives $3,000.00 Donation

The Otumfuo Charity Foundation, established by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to support educational development, on Monday received a cash donation of $3,000.00 from the Seattle-based �Asanteman Aboafuo Abusua�. The group is made up of Ghanaians living in the Washington State of the US. Nana Osei Agyeman, Patron of the group, said members were proud to be associated with efforts at bringing education to the youth to assure the nation of a better future. He said given the critical importance of education to socio-economic progress, it was important for all to accept to share in the responsibility of improving the quality and accessibility. Nana Agyeman said this was the second time the group had donated to the foundation and he pledged continued support. Dr Thomas Agyarko-Poku, Executive Director of the foundation, said apart from education, the body also supply medical equipment and logistics to enhance quality health care for the deprived rural population and provide potable water to the communities. The foundation also promotes and helps to preserve the culture and natural heritage of the people. He thanked the group for the support and said it would be used for the intended purpose. Dr Agyarko-Poku appealed to other individuals and organisations both home and abroad to emulate the kind gesture.
