The West African Insurance Companies Association (WAICA) has announced the hosting of the 2012 Educational Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Banjul, Gambia, from April 15-17.
Mr. William Coker, Secretary General, explained to B&FT that this year�s conference will dwell on the theme �Professional and Ethical Behaviour in the Insurance Industry�.
About 300 delegates, insurance institutions, and observers from all over the world are expected to grace the Banjul Conference.
It is also expected that during the AGM there will be a change of leadership as Mr. Fattai K. Lawal, the current president from Nigeria, will hand over to Mr. Dawda Sarge of The Gambia.
Mr. Coker said two thought-provoking papers will be presented and discussed by dynamic stakeholders from the industry.
The first paper will be �Professionalism in a Highly Competitive Environment and the Practice of Ethical Behaviour in the Development of the Insurance Industry - The Role of Management�.
�Professional Insurance Underwriting and Marketing - A Must for the Growth and Sustenance of the Insurance Industry in West Africa� will come up on day-two.
