3 Children Suffocate To Death

THE THREE children who were allegedly trapped in a vehicle at Nii Boi Town near Lapaz in Accra have been identified as Abena Naomi, 10, Saviour Mensah, 6 and Joseph Elikem 2. The Tesano Divisional Commander, Emmanuel Bossoh, explained that the three, who were residents of Nii Boi Town, were seen at about 3:20 pm on Tuesday February 28, 2012. He said they suffocated to death in a parked Hyundai saloon car registered as GR 3673 D whose doors were locked. There were no marks of violence on them. He noted that so far the police did not suspect any foul play. The bodies of the three have since been taken to the Police Hospitals morgue awaiting autopsy. Meanwhile, an eyewitness told Daily Guide on the day of the incident that residents in the area did not rule out a foul play as the children were foaming. The children were, for some time, missing. A search for them by their parents resulted in the discovery that the three, who were all related and lived in the same compound, had suffocated to death in the said vehicle which was parked in a compound at a popular joint called Container, within the same locality.
