A 60-YEAR-OLD Togolese national has been killed in a brutal fashion by his compatriot after a brawl broke out between the two over missing Okro seedlings belonging to the deceased. The incident took place at Nyame Adom near Kunsu in the Ahafo Ano South District of the Ashanti region. The deceased, Abukari Yahaya, had retrieved the missing Okro seedlings in a polythene bag from the room of the suspect, 30-year-old Braimah Yebelick, another Togelese, on Thursday morning. The suspect became incensed about the decision of the deceased to enter his wooden structure on a farmland, without his permission, to pick the Okro seedlings so he engaged him in a fierce fisticuff. In the course of the brawl, Yebelick took a huge stick which he used to hit the head of the 60-year-old man several times, causing severe head wounds to the deceased who collapsed later after bleeding profusely. The police were called to the scene and they quickly rushed the collapsed 60-year-old man to the Mankranso Hospital where he was given first aid and referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi. Abukari Yahaya, who had sustained life-threatening injuries on his head and was bleeding, died whilst being transported in an ambulance from Mankranso to KATH in Kumasi. Vitus Napen, the Mankranso District Police Commander who narrated the story to Daily Guide, said the suspect was in police custody assisting in investigations. The police chief said primary investigation by his outfit indicated that the suspect, sometime ago, was accommodated by the deceased in his house at Kunsu. Yebelick later allegedly put up a bad behaviour, forcing the deceased to eject him from the house. The suspect moved about two kilometres from the deceaseds house and erected a wooden structure on a farmland where he lived until the dastardly incident occurred on Thursday.
