The National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers (NASPAWAP) has announced an increase in the price of a bag of sachet water, popularly referred to as ‘pure water’.
In a press statement, the Association said a bag of sachet water will now cost GH¢3.50p when bought from all trucks and water depots.
They explained that the increase is as a result of “high production cost and distribution.”
In the statement, NASPAWAP added that “the price of a single sachet water remains at GH¢0.30p.”

Freedom of association does not mean you have to exploit. There is no justification whatsoever for this price adjustment. It will backfire.
How did the production cost increase when electricity bills have been reduced significantly, especially for industries?
The consumer protection man, Kofi Capito is now an NPP man. He was the campaign manager for Stephen Ntim during the NPP chairmanship race. He has no mouth to talk now. Ghana is finished. Things are just not not working, very serious huh.
How do we understand, free market or deregulation? Associations are to fight for the rights of its ppl but not to control prices. Consumer protection group, where are u, we are not a serious country. OMCs are doing same and no one is talking about it. Deregulation is to create competitive market for the consumer but if a group can issue a statement to order its members to follow a particular direction is a no no. There should be competition in the market place. Consumer protection Agency, pls we need to hear ur voice. Telcos did same, this is not healthy.
