Embattled gold dealership firm, Menzgold Ghana Limited, has asked its staff to proceed on leave effective Monday, December 10.
The company said it arrived at the decision as a result of unceasing threats to its properties as well as staff of the company.
In a statement dated December 4, the gold dealership firm said the staff should return to work on December 20 “when all outstanding entitlements, including end of year packages, shall be fully disbursed”.
“All branch managers are hence transferred temporarily to the head office; Dzorwulu, Accra, effective Monday, December 10, 2018,” the statement said.
It added that all staff should remain calm and be assured that Menzgold shall endeavour to assure their job security.
Online trading
The statement added that it has been advised by the authorities to halt its online trading [just as the offline one] to enable the authorities to assess the system and present a final say to the public and the company.
“To this end all the 5% migration fees received shall be reimbursed fully to customers from Monday, December 10 to Friday, December 15, 2018,” the statement added.
According to the statement, the date of their end of year durbar will be communicated to the staff where the Chief Executive, Nana Appiah Mensah, will address the staff.

NDC returns Ghana to IMF(HIPC and BAILOUT) anytime they assume power. So, it beats my imagination why would Ghanians return them to power. I am glad I was not in Ghana during the whole 8years of NDC administration.
IF YOU TRULY WANT TO TALK POLITICS AS IN NPP AND NDC, THEN PLEASE DIRECT ALL THE CURRENT HAPPENINGS TO NDC. THIS IS WHAT THEY SET IN PLACE IN ORDER TO HAVE THE NPP FAIL SO THEY CAN COME BACK TO POWER IN THEIR DREAMS. THEY TOOK KICKBACKS AND ISSUED BOGUS LICENSES FOR PEOPLE TO OPEN BANKS AND SAVING/LOANS OFFICES. NOW THAT THE NPP IS IN POWER DOING THE RIGHT THINGS, THE BOGUS ONES ARE COLLAPSING AND YOU WANT TO TURN AROUND AND BLAME NPP. NPP HAS DONE NOTHING WRONG. THIS IS ALL THE DOING OF THE NDC. WHEN WILL GHANAIANS EVER USE WISDOM TO ANALYZE SITUATIONS INSTEAD OF ALWAYS COMPLAINING AND WHINING OVER WHICH PARTY IS BETTER AND WHICH ONE IS NOT. NDC GOVERNMENT IS THE LAST THING GHANA NEEDS NOW...TRUST ME.
@Yaa Akyaa. So when will the ***barred word***-ity of some Ghanaians cease?Let me tell you something there is no business on this planet that you will invest in and get the kind of returns Menzgold was paying his clients. This a pure Ponze scheme . Pure and simple. the moment the inflows stop a scheme like that collapses. Why are you trying so hard to rope in government?People should have learnt their lessons by the experience of Pyram and R5or even DKM.But no always there are are f001s just waiting to be ripped off.
When the The NPP government wanted power they came to Ghanaians with a very sweet tongue. Now that they have got the power they are speaking to us with a bitter tongue and branding us as greedy. BoG and SEC collapsed the offline business of MenzGold and according to NAM1, they have asked him to stop the online business as well. The government infiltrated the ranks of the MenzGold customers, hired brass band for them and used their leader to appeal to the government to collapse the online business. NAM 1 has no other chioce than to fold up. So, we ask the striking customers, who is going to pay your locked up funds for you? Certainly not the government and even if they sold out all the assets of MenzGold, it would not be enough to pay you!
