Permit me, Madam, to address this letter to you.
Last night, our nation was thrown into further anguish when news broke that the Police had found human parts behind the house of the main and cruel antagonist in the tale of the Taadi kidnappings.
Since the news broke many Ghanaians, like me, have come to the conclusion, that the news represents the last few pages in this truly horrific saga.
Others, the more positive among us, still insist on giving your office the benefit of time and have urged calm while you confirm, or otherwise, who those humans parts belong to.
Regardless, Madam COP, the find and the location of the find, close to a year after the young women went missing, undermines any claim you can make that your office conducted, or are conducting, a diligent investigation into the affair.
Because the foot of such bogus claims stamps the very life out of reason; it is untenable and cannot be supported by the discovery of yesterday.
Indeed, if a diligent investigation had been conducted by your office then it would not be supportable by logic, thought or reasoning that until yesterday, or thereabout, your office did not know that the accused had rented that property when he moved to Ghana.
Neither, Madam COP, can it be supported by logic, thought or reasoning that your officers did not move to search that premise or when they did, search reasonable ground about the property: It would scandalize intelligence if your office claims they did this and yet did not find the human parts-it would offend truth if they claim they did know this property existed at all-.
Madam COP, Ms, the discoveries of yesterday makes your continuous decision to head the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service unethical, immoral and self-seeking.
While you bear a legal right to that office, you would admit that your own conduct in recent times has undermined the trust and confidence the Ghanaian people should have in that office and has reduced it, and the occupants, to a daily unfair partisan scrutiny.
You would admit, Madam COP, Ms, that when police investigators do not have the confidence of the public they serve; crime thrives and investigations are hampered by a lack of cooperation and an absence of trust in the system.
It cannot, therefore, with the greatest of respect, be a rational course of action to hold on to the office you currently occupy.
You are tasked by the command of the State with the role of heading the crucial department of investigating and uncovering perpetrators of crime, yet it is your own conduct and presence as Head of that department that is festering a disgusting boil of impunity and hampering the successful completion of investigations.
Your record as a Police Officer and rapid rise through the ranks under every leader since the inception of the fourth Republic bears testimony to your general quality as a Police Officer. But you have failed as head of the CID, failed to lift us up with you, failed to obtain our support, respect and cooperation and failed in this test case involving the kidnappings.
I, therefore, would suggest to you that you resign from that office and submit yourself to the Inspector General of Police to be sent to a department where you can best serve the interest of the State.
Resign Madam, pray, resign!
Your fellow citizen,
KoH

There is an American movie titled 6 Bullets (2012) with similar scene where Van Damm was deceived that a girl he was tasked to look for after she was kidnapped was murdered beyond recognition. It turned out that this was a ploy by security officials and other powerful persons who knew of the activities of the Kidnapping gang and possibly beneficiaries of the proceeds to give the impression after persistent attempt by the parent s to locate their daughter to get the impression that the girl was dead so they could let go. I will advise the families and well meaning civil society organizations to keep an eagle eye of the process leading to whatever DNA test they want to conduct. The gaps in the behavior of the Police and the State and their attitude towards this investigation tells me there is an attempt to follow the lines of this movie
Most of you have made the point for me. Please you cant know all so dont just write about things you have no idea about. Is cos of you that the family has turned the whole tragic and horrific case into politics unfortunately, listening to the family communicators the President should be blamed for the kidnap. Ayikoo !!
You are more shallow than the writer you are trying to portray as having little understanding of intelligence. For crying out loud it is the CID boss of a sovereign nation we are talking about! That an officer of her caliber was given information that she did not verify but quickly rushed to have a press conference with that? Even in intelligence there was no need to have a press conference even if she truly knew where the girls were. You don't popularize such 'classified' info. But she ,for the sake of scoring cheap point quickly rushed to the public and lied! @ako you are saying she did not lie...what did she do then? Does she know where the girls are? Let us call a spade a spade: the woman is incomptetent and should resign. If the President made a false claim or decision based on what he received he could be forgiven but not the CID Boss! That is her daily job! Once they present info to you it is your call to distill the facts from the fiction! This is basic!
I find this open letter amazing and the writer did not understand what is called intelligence. Intelligence can be wrong or correct. Even in countries such as US and UK where security agencies have huge multi-million budgets to gather intelligence, they get things wrong. Examples abound everywhere in advanced countries. Maame Tiwaa relied on the intelligence provided her and made decisions and she did not lie, period. Why should Maame Tiwaa lie in this case? There is no reason for her to lie here. The writer does not know how it will cost to train a person of the same calibre like Maame Tiwaa. Do the writer think that recruiting a CID boss is like appoint a minister of state based on political affiliation or watchman? The writer lacks good judgement by saying CID boss should resign and is illiterate in the area of security, period. Let us focus strengthening our laws on renting our houses to foreign criminals by asking for new tenants identity, the backgrounds, their jobs etc. That is the root cause of kidnappings in Ghana. We give our houses to too many foreign criminals and that must stop
To resign is being too kind. She must be demoted and sacked. She and her team are liars, ***barred word*** and disrespectful with peoples emotions. If she had an ounce of self respect and conscience she wouldn't have gone ***barred word*** blabbing " we know where the girls are" ***barred word*** woman, bring them. Akyir bi.Mtchewwww
I don't think you understand the story you are commenting or the context in which the comments are being made. The suspect behind the kidnappings was arrested but managed to break jail with the 'able' assistance of police officers. It took you over 6months to search the residence of the suspect. I am not a police officer but common sense should tell me that the first place to conduct a search is the suspect's residence and its vicinity. They waited till over 6months before searching the premises a few days ago only to discover body parts! It is common knowledge kidnappers work in groups and over these 6 months a lot of evidence could have been destroyed by his accomplices! Even without being a police officer common sense tells me this. And again, this same CID boss came out to lie that she knew the whereabouts of the girls when in fact she had no clue. And here you are telling us to give the police and government a break! People like you who condone the incompetence of public office holders are the reason for all the impunity we have going on in this country. I hope your sister or mother would have been one of the kidnapped victims and I wonder if you would have been so s3nsl3ss with your comments! Your madda!
I simply can't understand some of these know all Ghanaians, they think the Police can and should be able to solve or prevent every crime in the nation it can't be so. Over a decade ago a British toddler was abducted in Portugal and have since not been found bad bad things are happening across the globe so please give our Police and the Government a break
The CID boss should resign and not reassigned to different department. Everything in Ghana from taking over toilets to running of boards and co-operations has turned into politics. President Akuffo Addo and Vice president Bawumiah introduced the word INCOMPETENCE into Ghanaian politics. It is now clear to every rational G every Ghanaian that these two gentlemen are themselves very very incompetent, have no clue on governance, just titles on paper, always lying. It is time Ghanaians vote for people of substance (NDC or NPP) and not paper qualification or tribal affiliation. I am ashamed of the much publicized resume of these gentlemen. Corruption is on the increase in Ghana, cost of living is unbearable, no jobs for the youth, vigilante impunity at the highest level, no regard for rule of law, no press freedom what is going on folks? Are we growing wiser or still growing taller and becoming more stupiiid and ***barred word***
This one with the jaws like some kusi33 that has gone for 'full-load' in a near-by cassava farm! I almost threw up when she was interviewed some months back concerning the position of IGP and she expressed her willingness to accept the post if 'offered'! That was still in the midst of the unresolved kidnap saga of the three girls whose only crime was to live in the times Maame Tiwa is the CID boss! As if the her incompetence as head of the CID and the handling of this kidnap saga in particular did not anger us enough! The mere fact that she is still at post after lying to the whole nation about knowing where the girls were kept is enough indication that she has no clue what her calling(or rather source of nokofio)is. In jurisdictions where officers of the law understand that they have a duty to protect the citizenry at ALL TIMES, whose taxes pay her hefty salary and afford her all the comforts beyond the reach of ordinary taxpayers, she would have resigned a immediately after such a palpable lie about the location of the girls. It is clear she is not in control or her subordinates do not even trust her with facts and therefore feed her with falsehood! Fast-forward to today and we still have this kusi33 in office ,wanting to be the next IGP! You only need to be a parent to understand the psychological trauma and torture the parents and relatives of these kidnapped girls went through! To have no less a person than the head of the CID play games with probably their most horrific experience is totally unacceptable! And the so-called father of the nation looked on! Ghana..Hmmmmmm,smh.
