The cry of the Special Prosecutor for an official office space to work has been listened to by government.
The Nana Addo-led government has allocated an office space to Mr Martin Amidu who has complained ‘bitterly’ that since his appointment in February 2018, he is unable to effectively deliver on his mandate because his office is under-resourced.
President Nana Akufo-Addo swore in Martin Amidu as Ghana’s first Special Prosecutor early this year.
A two-storey building which appears ready for renovation and close to the International Press Center on the Gamel Abdul Nasser Avenue at Ridge will house Amidu and his team of legal minded persons to work.
Accra based Citi FM however reported that, ‘one of the floors of the building has seven rooms, a conference room, and stores, while the second floor has nine rooms.’
They further reported that, there are ‘broken windows and parts of the compound overgrown with weeds.
There were cobwebs everywhere and the floors were covered in dust.’
Engineers of the facility said the renovation of the office will take at least six months - and funds have already been approved for the job.

@FAY. SO YOU THINK SP AMIDU HAS SINCE HIS APPT BEEN WORKING FROM HIS KITCHEN?? AT LEAST HIS OUTFIT HAS A TEMPORARY OFFICE IT'S IS WORKING IN. THIS NEW OFFER IS THE PERMANENT OFFICE. GHANA WILL WIN...
Which means in the next 6 months he'll be hopelessly walking about doing nothing
@ NDC IS SATANIC stop that politics. In actual fact calculate February to October and tell us how many months is spent here and add at least 6 months of renovation period and tell us how many months has Martin Amidu has been waiting for his office? Do not forget he is collecting his salary every month during all these periods. Lets call spade a spade and say that the office should have been ready before Amidu's appointment to avoid all this embarrassments.
NS,gyae gyimie no, na mo'agyimi dodo. How many months from February to October? when ndc came to meet juicy meat and ate everything including the bones what do you expect them to use to resource that very important office? I'm happy at long last they've got a very spacious office to operate and withing 3 months some offices could be ready for action. Keeping talking so when the time is up and ndc appointees are being called in the middle of your campaigns you tell Ghanaians witch hunting. Every witch in the former ndc government will be hunted. Get ready!
NPP was elected on two major pillars. One was to fix the economic mess of JDM and the second to prosecute those that have been involved in dubious and corrupt dealings. I think so far, it's fair to state that, the NPP has failed woefully on the latter pillar and the earlier this construct is rectified, the better for all sympathizers of the current government. G
Eric gyae gyimie nu,.... how can you appoint a Special Prosecutor and he has not office. 18 months plus you knew this was a position you will create, and now you are giving him an office when NPP will be voted out of power in 2020, what work can he accomplish?
This gov't is indeed a listening one,it's serious fighting corruption as he promised.I believe Ghanaians must exercise a little patience to see the fruits of the good works of this gov't.
