The Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah says she cannot resign over the missing Takoradi girls.
Rather, she says she is focused on bringing a conclusion to the case of the missing girls. Speaking at an event organised by the Commonwealth Africa, she noted that she would not be distracted by calls for her resignation since “my position is not a position that I applied for.” “Resign or not resign? In fact, my position is not a position that I applied for…apart from legal and prosecution that I cannot hold because I am not a lawyer, there are other schedules that I can hold as a Commissioner of Police.
“I don’t need to resign. Resigning is like resigning from the Ghana Police Service. So, the position is not something that I have to resign and say that I am no longer a Director General CID. It is like posting, transfer. So, I have to be transferred. When the time comes for me to be transferred, I will be transferred. Maybe I will be taken to another position.
“Having said that, when you have everybody calling for your resignation, you have to ask yourself, is that the one that will solve the problem? There’s a problem for us to solve and that is my focus. I have to focus and bring whatever situation that we have to a very conclusive stage. Not to waste your time and think whether to resign or not to resign. So, when it’s time for me to leave, I will leave,” she said.

The bogus npp government in power should have ask her to resign or be sacked , but rather suppoting her because she is involved with their dirty work.
Leave Tiwaa alone, do your politicians know how to resign honorably? I know Tiwaa's utterances did not help matters with regards to Taadi girls case. However, the police administration can put her on a transfer or something like that.....She is a good police woman and has pay her dues in the service, why do you want her to resign? The police service should transfer her that should be her worst punishment....
This lady knows no shame. In a more civilized society you would have resigned honorably to save the institution. A chicken black will always be black. That is the more reason why public has no respect and does not recognize the institution because of infantile utterances from you as a leader or an officer. we are always growing taller and not wiser. ghana politics has made most people upside down, myopic, uncivilized and ***barred word***
