Officials of the presidential Taskforce on the retrieval of state assets Tuesday morning ransacked the Ashongman Estate residence of the former Deputy Local Government Minister, Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum on suspicion that he’s keeping state vehicles.
The alleged security operatives led by one Daasebre Kwabena Ahenkorah, Head of the National Task Force and some others including 6 well-built men and two police officers stormed the home of the former Deputy Minister in the early hours of Tuesday at exactly 6:00 am and held the family for over two hours in search of the supposed missing vehicles belonging to the state.
Mr Agyekum who spoke to Kasapa FM told sit-in host of the Anopa Kasapa Morning Show, Kwaku Owusu Adjei that it was a poor spectacle, as his family was manhandled in the process, while at some point the macho men almost assaulted his wife for demanding a search warrant from the security officials.
“Apart from the leader of the group, one Ahenkorah who showed his ID in the process, the rest of the men were without any ID, including the two uniformed police men. They claimed the operations in my home was sanctioned by the Flagstaff House.”
“I never had in my possession the Land Cruiser Prado and Toyota Camry they were looking for. When they took my car papers and saw that everything was okay, they told me they would have to do a photocopy of it and return it later. I suspect this false information was given to them by my neighbours. The Prado I had in my possesssion was for the government which I returned long ago before January 7.”
According to him, he earlier called in the Ashongman Police to intervene, but there were no response from them.
His family was caged in their home, including his children who had to forfeit school because they were not ready to release the vehicles in the house for more than two hours.

jungle governance, am ashame to be a Ghanaian. Disgraceful party in government with cartoon and remote controlled supporters.
Stop the Kweku Anase tears and tender in the vehicles. You guys are too materialistic.
who cares?only one day your children could not go to school because of searching in your house, why your children did not take taxi to school?are they not equal as the school children taken tro-tro to school?shame on you, your corrupt government attitude has lead you to that situation.
well though i want state assets be retrieved, i think ransacking and holding hostage kids isnt the best to do., this is all about the greedy, impunity and corruption of the NDC appointees but i wanna see one day a police man or woman will stand the unlawful acts in the country., madam frema, please sanitise the system, they can get to the house, show this id cards but who knows if they are yaw boateng gyan police or soldiers, the best to do is at least the district or area police commander is called off hand to join the team, move unannounce to that appointees house and retrieve it. , this will make it more credible bcx once a commander or a known police offier of high rank is part of it, it makes the system easy and cooperating., the father of mom stole not the kids and the mental torture we put the kids into i hate. , the police too must be professionals, they did to us in opposition and we spoke against and dont wish they do same to ndc now in opposition ., in all, please once you are off power, send back the car, if the state allows you to use, still get official letter or sticker form madam frema so abronye wont chase you, if you resist dea, i think matters of these will occur bcx no one is gonna allow state assets to go the drain most especially now NANA says he wont buy any car but even if will buy, hope will be from KANTANKA where adwoa safo will vet before, hahaha., lets all cooperate and so much, when in power, we must serve our leaders so wont go to opposition, hahaha opposition na hell right, next time you will respect old man in campaign trail
Nothing is shameful than ndc bring in power. The people of Ghana who you ndc cheated and put them in hardship are the ones reporting your members to the Task force so where in lies the shame? The citizen have made themselves vigilantes and reporting you. Who reported John Dumelo ' s state stolen car to the Task force was it not from the garage he went to rebrand the car? This show ndc are not safe in Ghana, the people will chase you out if giving the chance. Kojo58gh go find some place to hide since the next stop is your house by your neighbors reporting you. Ndc will never have rest in Ghana and they make me laugh when they think of coming back, who are going to vote you back the people who are reporting you to be arrested because they take you as thi*ves? It will be better for the ndc to sh*t up than going from radio station to the other with your propaganda and lies. Kwesi Pratt is one person who is making ndc unattractive. kojo58gh just time chookoo the man you are insulting will surely turn your Saturday to Sunday in just a little while the investigations are still going on and I can't just wait to see you people in jail. Akronfuo with loud mouth.
This reckless and shameful acts are putting the country in the lime light. There is absolutely nothing wrong in retrieving missing state cars. Thus if indeed some cars are missing. But the process of doing that should not turn the country into a jungle. I Can't imagine that the the men in police uniforms were not even having search warrant. I mean where can you do this in this modern world? If there are witches, they must be hunted. But doing it based on hearsay without proper investigations, is untenable. When you have a "lawyer" as president and at the same time recklessness and lawlessness are the orders of the day, it speaks volume. And all of sudden, all the vociferous voices and civil society organizations and the so-called men of God who were all over place during the past administration have all gone silent. Hypocrisy at its best. We are watching.....
'As3m b3ba dabi'. I can't get my head around this ndc people, complaining about harassment. If the outgoing gov't bought 100 cars, and the in-coming gov't received 70 out of the 100, whom do you expect to chase for the remaining 30. NPP should hold all the appointees of ndc, and give them 'talk through' s laps and they will show where all the vehicles hidden. Sometimes we talk about democracy in Africa, but we do not understand the word democracy let alone practising it.If you live in 'obroni krom a' you see the difference between. There is corruption in develop countries, but the make sure the do about 90% of the job, and pocket the rest, but in Ghana, we do 10-20% shabby work and pocket the remaining 80%. If we don't change our attitude,we would not get anywhere. PERIOD
This is bad times. No wonder Kofi Koomson said he cant sleep if Akuffo Addo is president. Thats bringing his law status into disrepute. It is not anybody saying, but the actions and inaction speak it all. Subjecting school children to such a sight and ordeal
Those who know they have in their possession of government vehicles should return them rather than allowing themselves to be searched.
DON'T WORRY THEIR TIME WOULD COME
