Pressure is being mounted on President Akufo-Addo to submit to parliament, the full list of Presidential Staffers immediately as required by law.
According to the Minority, it has taken too much time for the President to submit the list to parliament.
Section 11 of the Presidential Office Act, 1993 (Act 463), requires that the President submits to parliament a report on the staffing at the Office of the President.
Debating the 2018 Budget statement, Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa said wages and salaries at the presidency has increased from GHS 79 million in 2017 to over GHS 119 million in the 2018 Budget which is more than that for 15 ministries.
Speaking to Class news after the parliamentary session, Mr Ablakwa said government is unwilling to release the list of staffers because they want to create jobs for supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
