Out of the One Hundred and Six (106) Minority Members in Parliament, only five of them were present on the floor of the House on Friday, 22 June for business.
The Minister of Roads and Highways, Kwesi Amoako Atta, was on the floor on Friday to answer questions posed by MP for Ningo Prampam, Samuel Nartey George, who was one of the five Minority MPs present in the chamber.
The rest of the Minority MPs present include Richard Quashiga, MP for Keta; Muntaka Mubarak, MP for Asawase; Benjamin Kpodo, MP for Ho Central; and James Klutse Avedzi, Ketu North.
According to Ekow Annan, the Majority side of the house also had a lot of MPs absenting themselves with only a little over 40 of them being present.
Ekow Annan further stated that Minority Chief Whip, Muntaka Mubarak, pleaded with Speaker Prof Mike Oquaye to allow the members present to ask questions on behalf of the absentee MPs.

It is not their fault. Abi na we dey pay tax make dem take pay.
It is NOT just absence but the NDC elections has taken the toll on their activities.
MPS WHO ARE NOT MINISTERS WITH ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES TO SERVE THE NATION BUT FAIL TO GO TO PARLIAMENT MUST BE VOTED OUT. SUCH MPS MUST BE SANCTIONED. IT IS CORRUPTION TO RECEIVE SALARIES AS MP BUT FAIL TO GO TO PARLIAMENT TO WORK FOR WHAT THEY ARE PAID FOR. WOULD SUCH MPS HAVE THE MORAL RIGHT TO CHALLENGE ANYBODY TO BE RESPONSIBLE IN THEIR DUTIES?
The poor attendance by the Minority may be due to the NDC Constituency executive elections which compelled MPs to travel to their constituencies.
Democracy indeed! Some garbage house called parliament. And these are the men making decisions for us. Apiiitow!!
We actually need a military system of govt.
