Founder of All People's Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga has described the 2019 budget as a "sleeping budget".
Hassan Ayariga was captured with a placard in Parliament with the inscription “Sleeping Budget”.
Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta on Thursday fulfilled his constitutional mandate of presenting the government's budget statement in parliament.
The budget statement which is the third of the Akufo-Addo administration addressed very pertinent issues that have arisen over the course of time.
The government's first ever budget, christened 'Asempa budget' read in March 2017 brought to life the flagship policy, Free SHS and the abolishing of taxes termed 'nuisance tax'
The second, 'Adwuma budget' read in November 2017 promised to bring about jobs and economic prosperity for Ghanaians. This brought in its wake the NaBCo programme where 100, 000 graduates are to be given 3-year employment under 7 modules.
Over the two-year period the government has been in power, it has touted its management of the economy especially improving the macroeconomic indicators.
Despite its much celebrated feat, many businesses complain about harsh economic times, increasing taxes especially at the ports increase in fuel prices and for much of the year a depreciating cedi against the dollar.

Oh Ayariga the laughing stock. Seriously ignoramus.
SO who is the tweeeerp that invited such f00l to this event?
Peacefm, don't waste our time and ears with this man. He is a comedian
Under John Mahama twits , th9-3ves ,block -headed individuals and people who have no business showing their faces in the House were invited to serious events. Akua Donkor Ayariga and a host of illiterate , dumb undesirables spoke on national issues when they did not have any comprehension of what was at stake. Folks let us build a more serious country
Ayariga, the concert-man!
Gyimi k3k3!And we call such person a political leader.
***barred word*** man, do you know what a budget is about for to say is a sleeping budget.Go and ask your brother John Mahama what a sleeping budget is and he will show you one, where the state non existent of projects as completed.
You easily dismiss what you don't understand so I can understand Ayariga's difficulty. What I don't understand is why he was in parliament in the first place knowing very well that his appreciation of finance and economics is very weak and therefore understanding the budget was going to be problematic for him in the first place? That a grown up man wakes up and drives to parliament to listen to something he does not in any way understand. Would he not have been better off if he had stayed home and slept? Akoa wei ajimi paaa oooo
