Member of Parliament [MP] for the North Tongu constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has cautioned government to show seriousness in steps taken to investigate the murder of Ghanaian investigative journalist, Ahmed Hussein-Suale.
According to him the NPP government has been very poor in briefing the public on investigation matters and should this be the case in the death of Ahmed Hussein-Suale, then the state will suffer major foreign interventions.
“ . . Indeed this matter if not handled well will affect government interventions from foreign countries as well as investors to Ghana,” he said in an interview on Peace FM's 'kokrokoo' programme.
He further recalled that “final information on the Australia Visa Scandal which was all over international media is nowhere to be found, as well as investigations on former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kwesi Nyantakyi’s comments made in connection with Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ number twelve documentary. This is the same government that claims to be investigating every matter that emanates from its administration as compared to past governments, but never reports on any outcome of its investigations”.
The ranking member of Parliament’s Foreign Affairs committee pointed out that “government should stop shielding the matter at hand and inspire confidence in getting to the bottom of the killing since the international community is watching.”
Ahmed was shot three times, twice in the chest and another in the neck late Wednesday night at Madina in Accra while driving home by unidentified men riding a motorbike.

Stop politicization every issue in Ghana because you are not in government. I blame the executive, the legislature and the judiciary for all the mess this Anas guy is posting in Ghana. He is blackmailing everyone and it seems everybody is scared of Anas. The only brave one is honorable Kennedy who has shown that he is not scared of Anas and we support him. How do you call blackmailing investigative journalism? Anas needs to be interrogated by the police for Ahmed's murder, period.
Each Region is supposed to have it's own TV station. So far GBC has been able to setup only Obonu TV, which is to cater to the needs of Gas. When is GBC going to create the other TV Stations? This is a trivial task. More channels can be multiplexed on the same frequency.
Why must you people politicize anything and everything in this country? A murder has been committed, the responsible agencies are working on the case, why bring government into this, and say they are shielding the matter? I just don't get it. You simply put statements out there without any evidence. What does shielding the matter mean, and what is being done to show that they are shielding the matter? You people are now just a nuis@nce. Aba! You seem to just be waiting for something untoward to happen in the country, then you jump and drag government into it. I pity you babies with sharp teeth. In any case where is your report on the Brazil world cup fiasco that your government investigated?
@ DylintonTalk is cheap indeed! Say it again and again!!!!! Everything is politicised partisanly if there be any such word.
Talk is cheap.
