The government has accused former President John Dramani Mahama of using falsehood to undermine the authority of the state in the eyes of the international community.
Mr Mahama on Wednesday, February 13 hosted diplomats and showed them videos and pictures of alleged violence which occurred during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election on January 31, 2019.
The Minister of Information, Kwadwo Oppong Nkrumah addressing a press briefing today in Koforidua said the government will notify the diplomats that two out of the three videos shown them by Mr Mahama and the narratives are palpably false and designed to tarnish Ghana's reputation.
He said: "The Government of Ghana will this week put the diplomatic committee in Ghana on formal notice that former President John Dramani Mahama peddled several falsehoods and sought to undermine the authority of the state in his engagement with them on Wednesday, 13th February 2019".
The Minister said the usage of some of the videos by Mr Mahama also seeks to prejudice the work of the Emile Short Commission which is mandated to investigate the violence that characterised the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election.

The Minister of Information, Kwadwo Oppong Nkrumah addressing a press briefing today in Koforidua said the government will notify the diplomats that two out of the three videos shown them by Mr Mahama and the narratives are palpably false and designed to tarnish Ghana's reputation. kojo grow up and play it save. u been used. hmmmmm
kojo u are eroding your hard earn reputation very fast. Pls seek for a your shuffle to another ministry. don't insult the diplomats they are not dummies. U are the information minister but they have more info than yourself and the govt.
Kojo u are young Akuffo Addo is old don't go down with. The diplomats have more videos of our president than the president himself. NPP stop mocking Ghanaians
@ Ama you are very right. Kojo Nkrumah used to be a very nice gentleman whom i admire so much until he became a politician and began to sink with political lies. Does he think these diplomats do not know what is going on in our country? In fact these diplomats know more than we do so Kojo keep your peace. In any case is the video shown to these diplomats not in circulation? We have all seen this video or kojo has a different video which is different from what the former president shown to the diplomats. If so put it out there for us to see before you sent it to the diplomats. We are citizens and not spectators.
@ Ama woye gyiiiiummmiifuo paaa. How dare you referring to the president as "Evil". Who in your party has his achievements. Abooooaa taa
@ Anon I didn't understand the pronouncements against Ama until I read the her write up. Why should you insult and disrespect a man of his calibre because of politics. How many of your family members can you compare to the president. You really deserved those curses from Anon.
