Former President, John Dramani, has said unlike the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), the National Democratic Congress (NDC) always delivers on its promises when voted into power.
“We are not the same as the NPP. We have always stood by the truth. We have not told false promises just because we want political power. We tell the people exactly what we can do for them and when we come into office, we make our best effort to deliver exactly what we said we can do for them,” the former President said at the party’s 27th Anniversary lecture.
Giving more examples to support his claim, Mr. Mahama said the NPP gave vain promises in the run up to the 2016 general elections in a bid to win the polls.
“It was in 2016 that NPP elevated false promises to a historic level. It was just like anything the people want to hear because we want political power but you forget that when you have done that and you come into power, the reality will catch up with you …Today, a large group of people are disappointed with the NPP.”
Mr. Mahama also said most of the projects under government’s one village, one dam project are shoddy.
“Today, 1 Village 1 Dam has become 1 Villlage 1 Pond because before the election I asked that, are you digging dugouts or dams for irrigation purposes, they refused to answer and the reality has caught up. These are dugouts. In some cases they do not even qualify as dugouts.”
The former President’s claim on these projects follows concerns over the implementation of the policy which has largely been described as poor.
Some of the dams constructed in some communities in the north, according to residents, had either dried up or were not built properly.
President Nana Akufo-Addo in response to these concerns promised to investigate the development while the Vice President asked Development Authorities not to pay contractors working on the project if they fail to meet the specified standards.

Who promised not to promise again for failing to fulfill his promises, Mr John Ford Manana?
You deliver on your promises and to who? Because Ghanaians surely don't think so and they spoke thunderously to it including your own political world bank. Has Mahama forgotten?
This is the first time I've hear Mr Mahama tell the truth. Indeed, how can NDC be like NPP? NDC are better in propaganda whilst NPP are better in governance. So Mr former president in perpetuity, you are right
Tell this man that he will need a ship load of toilet soap to wash his corrupt-ridden party clean to be like NPP. Tweaaaaaaaaa. I laughed enter ndc headquarters at Adabraka. Mr. Baloney.
Ahhhhhhhh, do you listen to yourself when you speak?
Are you corrupt? As a human being? No! As a ***barred word***.
Now I know that Mahama does not fear God at alllllll

You claim NPP lied yet you are describing the dam as a pond. The farmers who are benefiting from the 'pond' don't care about your rantings. Just mention one promise from NPP that they have not touched, looser
