A former deputy communications minister in the erstwhile Dramani Mahama administration, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has taken a swipe at the Emile Short Commission describing it as a charade.
His decision to denigrate the works of the commission, comes after government issued a White Paper and published report of the Emile Short Commission.
Mr. Kwakye Ofosu was of the view that one of the problems of our country is that we are unable to summon the moral courage to speak truth to power.
He noted that under President Akufo-Addo, Ghanaians have been caught up in sacred cow mentality and he explains, it is the reason why citizens are treated with so much disrespect.
The former deputy minister minced no words stating that the AWW Commission of Enquiry was always meant to be a charade to offer an escape route to the state sponsored terrorists who carried out the gun violence and their principals.
In his view, President Akufo-Addo set up the Emile Short Commission knowing very well that enough evidence existed to take action against various offenders.
In his view, the president has never been willing to punish the offenders and for this reason, opted for the shenanigan of a Commission.
He comtinued that President Akufo-Addo has in the process established himself as the foremost promoter of impunity and defender of wrongdoing by members of his party.
The Emile Short Commission, investigated the violence which characterised the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency by-election held on January 31, 2019.
The Commission was set up on February 6, 2019, and had up to a month to submit its report, which elapsed on March 7.
The commission took testimonies of several principal witnesses in the matter including the Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Sam George; Commander of the National Security SWAT team DSP Samuel Azugu; and NDC Parliamentary candidate Delali Kwasi Brempong and several others.

SO WHAT DIS THE COMMISSION SUGGESTED AS PUNISHMENT FOR THE FOLLOWING: 1. THOSE WHO LIED TO CLAIMED THAT PEOPLE ARE KILLED RIGHT BEFORE THEM IN THE HOUSE. 2.THOSE WHO WERE INSULTING EVERYBODY INCLUDING AKUFFO ADDO WHO WAS NOT IN CONTEST AND HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ELECTION. CALLING OFF THE ELECTION WITH AN INCIDENT NEAR JUST ONE POLLING STATION. 2. BUSING AZOKA BOY FROM TAMALE TO OVERLOOK AN ELECTION IN ACCRA. 3. AMASSING OF TUGS FROM ALL ACCRA JUST FOR ONE CONSTITUENCY 4.THOSE WHO STOP SECURITY AGENTS TO INSPECT TO VERIFY OF ALLEGED GOLDING OF ARMS IN A HOUSE. HE WHO DO NO EVIL FEARS NO SEARCH. IT TAKES TWO TO TANGO. WE NEED REVIEW OF THE REPORT AND THE WHITE PAPER MUST DO JUST THAT FOR JUSTICE
