Officials in charge of the new Cape Coast Stadium have been asked to desist from renting out the facility for musical events to save the pitch from further deterioration.
The clarion call was made by some concerned soccer administrators yesterday following the damage suffered by the turf at the new Cape Coast stadium after a Shatta Wale musical concert last Saturday.
The officials who lodged the complaint with the Graphic Sports on condition of anonymity yesterday were disgusted about the issue and wondered why such practice should be allowed to continue to the detriment of Ghana Sports.
The event left in its wake some dry patches in a greater portion of the pitch, completely taking away all the attraction of the hitherto greeny turf.
Even more disturbing is whether or not the damage would not have any effect on the ongoing Premier League since the venue is the new home grounds of Ebusua Dwarfs.
