Ama Nyarko Attefuah Quainoo (Ophelia Osei Nyarko)

Mrs. Ama Nyarkoa Attefuah Quainoo officially known as Ophelia Osei Nyarko has eighteen (18) years experience in journalism; thus from 2001 to Date, She has been a broadcast journalist for the past eighteen years.

Her hardwork and loyalty as a broadcast journalist, newscaster and a Television reporter has placed her at a position as the Programs Manager of Hello 101.5 FM; a renowned station with the vision of Despite Media that is championing the radio industry in the Ashanti Region and beyond.

Due to her training and wide scope of study, she became the host of Wo Mpomu Te Sen, a health program designed to discuss health issues of the people in the society. By God’s grace and her endowed knowledge and professionalism, hundreds of people have benefited from the program by seeking medical advices and investigation and healed of various diseases. Through this, she won the best social program of the year in the year 2015. Through her boldness and experience in journalism, she was able to transmit exclusive reports on Denkyira Obuasi in 2017, Sampa in the Bono Region during the 2016 election in the mix of heavily armed military men among others. She also had the opportunity to joined Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene to Uganda to report on a program which Asantehene was the special Guest of Honour.

From her humble beginning Ama Nyarko Attefuah Quainoo, started her radio work at Ash FM in 2001 as broadcast journalist. She moved to Nkosuo Radio in 2004 and finally joined Despite Media in October, 2004. She completed her O’ Level education at Konongo Odumasi Secondary School in 1991 and A’Level at Presec Legon in 1994. She holds Bachelor of Education in Secretariat and Management and also Masters in Business Administration (Human Resource Management) from the University of Education, Winneba.

By dint of her hard work, commitment and meticulous working experience in journalism and her continuous search for better ways of attracting more listeners, delivering factual news, outstanding programs, good music, great information, nice interactive segments among others for despite media listeners, she has registered Hello 101.5 FM in the minds of people in Ashanti Region and beyond. Currently, she is the host of Abrabopa on Hello FM and a reporter for United Television in Ashanti Region.


Her manner is refined, gentle and very courteous when dealing with people. While she seems extremely modest and unassuming, she is quite decisive and assertive when the situation demands it. She makes no compromises and never tries to hide anything when dealing with what matters most to her. She is passionate about information carried out to despite media listeners. She is married with two children
