The Osu Oxford street mall has been closed down temporarily by city authorities. The Accra Metropolitan Assembly says the sprawling structure has no occupancy permit.
The shops were locked Monday in the afternoon. Workers were asked to go home and those on night shift asked to stay home. Tenants in the mall including Shoprite, Samsung, and others have posted notices indicating they are not working due to the closure of the mall.
The AMA notice said the management of the Mall should contact the Assembly for the occupancy certificate.
