The President of the Ghana National Union of Polytechnic Students, Sulemana Hakim has confirmed the closure of some polytechnics due to the POTAG strike.
Speaking to Radio Ghana, Mr Hakim said quite a sizeable number of students have left for home while others are going about their other businesses.
He says students have the right to protest and will hit the streets on Wednesday to demonstrate. He added that students are hopeful that government would listen to their plight.
Meanwhile, the President of the Polytechnic Teachers Association of Ghana, POTAG, James Dugrah, confirmed POTAG�s decision to continue with the strike since negotiations with the National Labour Commission have failed.
He bemoaned the way the situation is being handled with students bearing the brunt.
He pleaded that the book and research allowance of Polytechnic lecturers be restored.
