Students of Ofori Panin Senior High School, Akyem Kukurantumi, in the Eastern Region have resorted to sleeping outside their dormitories.
This worrying development, ongoing at Ofori Panin Senior High School, Today learnt, follows the invasion of bed bugs in their rooms.
According to Eastern Regional correspondent of Accra-based Eezy FM, Halm Agbadza, the situation was adversely affecting academic work in the school.
This, he explained, was as a result of the lack of quality sleep on the part of the students.
Headmaster of the School, Dr. Edmund Fianu, who confirmed the situation to Eezy FM, said although the rooms had been fumigated, the bed bugs were still worrying the students.
He said the lack of dormitory accommodation was also a contributory factor to the problem.
He said, that has resulted in overcrowding which situation gives the bed bugs comfort to sting.
“Our assembly hall has been converted into a make-shift dormitory to house some first-year students, yet over 150 first-year students are residing in private hostels far from the school campus,” he lamented.

My alma mater ,it didn't start today I remember in 2008 we encountered similarly.....so I urge and plead as well to government to find the cause of it so it can be dealt with accordingly. it should be extended to other high schools facing similar problems

What does headmaster do? In our time we were 10 in a room. Today they are 30 in a room. No headmaster can solve this problem when students are thrown to him and he has no control over number of students to admit
