It has emerged that the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND), is unable to trace contract documents on about 350 projects executed under former President John Dramani Mahama.
GETFUND has therefore asked such contractors to provide contract documents on such projects to enable it pay the contract sum.
To that effect, management of GETFUND have posted on its notice board, a list of 344 companies and projects which documents cannot be traced by the institution.
"The list hereunder provides information on payment certificates (contracts) for which contract documents are not available in our offices. The respective Consultants are hereby requested ti submit the contract documents to enable us process the listed payment certificates currently in our custody", said the notice signed by the GETFUND Administrator, Richard A Boadu.
Meanwhile, the government has made available a total amount of $500 million to be paid to contractors who are owed arrears.
This is according to the Executive Secretary of the Association of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors of Ghana, Cherry Emmanuel Awusanya.
He told Citi News that the amount covers 90 per cent of the outstanding debt.
This comes only a few days after the Association threatened to embark on a demonstration if the government did not honor its promise to pay them.
The Executive Secretary of the Association of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors of Ghana, Cherry Emmanuel Awusanya in a Citi News interview said although the money was yet to hit their account, they had seen evidence of government’s efforts to pay them their monies.

Not even the Attorney-General's Department can furnish the Secretariat with the documents?
Ghana bunch of ***barred word*** people ,can't find a copy of contract signed ideally 2 copies should be with the government , 1 with ministry of finance. There is a high probability there will be overpayment for some projects.
If I see a rational being supporting the NDC Party, I ask myself, "Are these people human beings at all?" Do they mean well for the country? Akua Donkor's case could have sent chills on these people to change their minds, but these people are still following this Satanic party of the NDC. "Akwadaa a ose oma oni nna no, ono nso nna." A war-torn country like Rwanda has surpassed us in developments. NDC IS A DEVIL PARTY.
Does it mean GETFUND was not party to the contract awarding process? Nsem piiiii.
Oooooh mother Ghana!! Contract documents cannot be found? and we are leaving it just at that? What an amazing country. We are now going to rely on those we owe to know how much we should pay them?. We are such a funny bunch of people and a nation.
