Professor Kofi Agyekum, popularly known as Opanyin Agyekum says it will be wrong to teach sexual education at a very young age.
According to him, it will be best to imbibe in such children Christian values as well as the country’s tradition and customs.
His comment comes on the back of controversies that have arisen following the alleged inclusion of Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) in the education system.
Ghanaians are speaking against the fact that the introduction of CSE is a subtle way of indoctrinating pupils on homosexuality.
Even though the Ghana Education Service and the Ministry of Education have denied the fact the CSE has been included in the curriculum, the debate continues.
Adding his voice to the debate on Peace FM's morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, Opanyin Agyekum said: “whether it is a proposal or not any addition to our curriculum must be in sync with our customs and traditions. Apart from that, it will be wrong to start sexual education at this early stage. It’s better to instill Christian values, customs and traditions in them than this new proposal.”

Mr Prof, is "Kwadwo Besia", "supi" part of our customs? Let us not bury our heads in the sand, "customs and traditions" evolve; this digital age is exposing our children to all kinds of other people's customs and traditions, what better way to equip our kids to be able to cope? Let's change the narrative and help our kids deal with early age puberty, adolescence, and CUT DOWN ON THE DEFILEMENT OF EVEN 4-YEAR OLD GIRLS BY UNSCRUPULOUS PREYING MEN. NOT A DAY PASSES WITHOUT ONE READING SUCH HORROR STORIES, MAKE A CASE FOR HOW WE CAN PROTECT OUR KIDS FROM SUCH EVIL, INSTEAD OF THE CURRENT CACOPHONY.
