The Chief Executive of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Dr. Anthony Nsiah-Asare, has been relieved of his duties as CEO, with effect from Monday, August 31st, 2009.
The Minister of Health, Dr. George Sipa-Yankey, who confirmed this to PEACEFM NEWS, also explained that they are not entirely dispensing with the services of Dr. Nsiah-Asare, as he could be asked to take up another appointment elsewhere within the Health Service."
According to him, the re-shuffling exercise does not affect only the KATH CEO, but many other health workers across the country.
Dr. Sipa-Yankey disclosed that, though the letters, relieving the affected personnel of their duties have been prepared, they are yet to be given out.
Dr. Anthony Nsiah-Asare was appointed in 2000 as the Chief Executive Officer of KATH.
He was initially the Medical Superintendent of the Tamale Hospital (now a Teaching Hospital), before he took up the KATH CEO position.
