Information available to peacefmonline.com indicates that workers of the National Health Insurance Scheme will on Monday, 27th October, 2014, embark on an indefinite strike action over their conditions of service.
According to some of the workers, their salaries have not been reviewed since 2013 and allowances for extra working duties have not been given since the introduction of the biometric registration system.
All efforts to get their message across to management according to them have proven futile because anytime they (management) hold stakeholders meeting, they (workers) are left out even though they are stakeholders.
"If by Monday we don't hear anything positive...we wil definitely embark on a strike action" one of them said.
The national executive council (NEC) of the workers are currently in a meeting to conclude on their decision.
