Ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, on Friday left listeners of OkayFM 101.7 stunned with a gripping narrative of the horrors albinos go through in Tanzania in an emotionally filled interview on the stations Ade3 Akye Abia Morning Show.
Anas was speaking on his latest investigative piece: Spell Of The Albino.
In his narration, Anas recounted the true story of an eleven year old boy, Adam, who had finished eating dinner with his father and a male visitor who sat with the family through the meal. According to him, as Adam moved to wash his hands, the visitor grabbed his hand, drew a machete and began hacking away his fingers.
Adam screamed for help but his father and stepmother looked on as the man pulled him (Adam) to the family hut and placed his hand on a wooden frame to ease the hacking. Before the man left Adam, he had chopped off three of his fingers.
After the attack, Adams father and stepmother sat idly, so unconcerned and didnt even bother to give poor Adam any medical attention.
