Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has promised to lead an investment drive geared towards job creation and development of the Central and Western Regions.
The people should therefore retain the National Democratic Congress, NDC, in power in order to fulfill this pledge.
Addressing the chiefs and people of Sekondi at the chiefs palace, Mr Amissah-Arthur said the NDC is committed to restoring Sekondi-Takoradi and the Western Region as a whole to its lost glory.
He appealed to the chiefs to partner the government to ensure that the December elections are peaceful and successful.
The Acting President of the Sekondi Traditional Council, Nana Tsitsi Appou, praised the government for the effort it is making in rehabilitating the western rail lines.
He mentioned the poor road network and the lack of enough facilities at the Albert Busomtwi Sam harbour as some challenges facing Sekondi.
