All landlords within and around La Dade-Kotopon Municipal Assembly (LaDMA) without toilet facilities by the end of July will face the wrath of the assembly, Ms Rita Odoley Sowah, Municipal Chief Executive has warned.
“The by-laws of the assembly will be strictly enforced on recalcitrant landlords who refuse to construct toilet facilities in their houses by the said deadline” she stated.
Ms Sowah, who disclosed this to ‘The Spectator said, the initiative was one of the several measures being undertaken by the assembly to put an end to open and indiscriminate defecation in the municipality.
She said the assembly had already served notices o all landlords in the municipality.
The MCE said the assembly had taken steps by collaborating with several Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) to help construct toilet facilities for residents at a subsidized rate.
She adviced tenants to be cautious of the houses they rent and be sure they had toilet facilitis.
The MCE said the assembly was still educating residents on the need for each household to get a toilet facility but tasked residents to consider their health as a major priority in and around the environment they live in
