Kwesi Pratt Jr., Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, has appealed to the authorities in the education sector to cancel the month in which the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) is held.
It has become acceptable and approved that the BECE be held in the month of June, looking at previous months and this year's that examination comes off.
According to Mr. Pratt, the month of June is a rainy season and so hinders the progress of the BECE.
He cited that there are a deluge of rainfalls in June and this usually makes movement difficult for the students.
Mr. Pratt therefore strongly advised that the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service reviews the month and so stop fixing the examination in June.
This, he believed, will ease the environmental challenges that confront students during the examination period.
