There is disquiet among staff of the Ghana Health Service following the appointment of Dr. Nsiah Asare as new head or the state organization, Starr News has learnt.
The NPP founding member and former head of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital is taking over from Dr. Appiah Denkyira who was appointed by the former Mahama administration.
Starr News sources say staff of the health service are uncomfortable with the age of their new director general, who is over 60 years.
Mr. Asare was earlier tipped to be heading for the National Health Insurance Authority but ended up at the GHS.
Speaking to Starr News, Dr Asare said he is upbeat about the appointment and will deliver in order to justify the confidence reposed in him by the president.
” It is not everybody who will like anybody’s appointment. It is only in this country that people think that when you are old, you have nothing in your head. If anybody has any problem with my appointment, they should direct it to the appointing authority, but I think the appointing authority saw something very good in me, and i believe with God on my side, I will use the skills and knowledge I have acquired over years to the betterment of the country as I go into that office,” he said.

I think if anyone can't work with old age then quit that's all! We need experienced people to take our country from this mess not babies with sharp teeth and evil dwarfs. Ndcfuo y'abr3 mo. Nsiah Asare is experience and knows GHS very well and can lead the organization.
Dr Nsiah is up to the task and can deliver. We need such an experience to hold the mantle of such an institution.Let give him a chance.
they can go to hell. dr, nsiah asare is coming; and he transfer anyone to stands in his way. at 60 when individuals have a very experience to teach the younger ones about ethics and hard work
As the Dr.rightfully said, it is Only in Ghana that the ages above 60s has no place. Some people are very funny in the sense that, they like Western style of governing but hate the 60s and over to take positions . Let's look nito the American Senate , Germany Bundestag , UK House of Commons , Italy, Nederlands , France and many other Countries where the over 60s are BEST than those demonstrating against Dr. Nsiah Asare's appointment. One word for these guys..... They are all ***barred word*** and they are sure Dr. Asare will espose them. NPP government means business and will not buy their aging story if that is all their problem . Dr Asare is up to the Tasks , you guys should rather rally behid him , we all praying for him to work delegently for mother Ghana .
National Health Service, deserves better from the staff who have allotted to themselves, as the appointing authorities to appoint whoever, to manage the Service. Nsiah Asare, is among the many best options for the service, and that his presence now is good for the nation, as well as the NPP governance. He understands the path to Service should go in the Party's manifesto.
