The Ministry of the Interior on Monday gave the assurance that the Government would not invade the privacy of Ghanaians and would ensure the safety, peace and security of all.
A statement issued by the Ministry and signed by Mrs Adelaide Anno-kumi, the Chief Director of the Ministry, and copied to the Ghana News Agency, said any invasion of the privacy of the citizenry was an affront to the fundamental human rights of the people.
The statement followed a social media report alleging that the Ministry would be enforcing a new Communications Regulation which would entail surveillance of calls and social media platforms by the Ministry.
‘‘The Ministry, therefore, wishes to state emphatically and unambiguously that the news item is false and should be disregarded by the general public,’’ the statement said.
It said there was no such new communication regulation and, thus, called on the general public to disregard the news item.
‘‘The Ministry wishes to assure the general public that no one’s communication device, be it mobile hand device, personal computer or any other device is connected to any system at the Ministry of the Interior,’’ it said.
The Ministry wished all Ghanaians a happy Easter celebrations.

The report is one of ndc defeat madn*ss. They are just confused they think putting out anything can help them. If the people have taking it serious then they might have succeeded and run with it and make a capital deal of it and see if that will help their failed 2020 message. I can't understand how ndc in government for 8 years have nothing to show but think lying again will help them.Ghanaians are now discerning and will judge every government by their works not their mouth. Ghanaians have confidence in this government and each one is ready to help for Ghana to succeed so have no time to listen to ndc lies and propaganda.A government which is less than 100 years have put all ministers and deputies plus most appointees in place and showing signs of good times ahead is bound to make the country work again. We don't need loud mouth ,arrogant thi*ves and liars to come back ndc forget about 2020 for your 44% and the MPS will drop to the lowest.
