Monday June 24, 2017 marked the fifth anniversary of the passing of the late President John Evans Atta Mills.
A wreath laying ceremony was organised at the Asomdwee Park in Accra and conspicuously missing from the ceremony was Mrs Naadu Mills, wife of the late president.
Explaining the absence of the former First Lady in a radio interview on Accra based Joy FM Monday evening, Mr Koku Anyidoho, deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) said open invitations were sent out to everybody.
Asked whether considering the position of Mrs Mills it had to be an open invitation, Mr Anyidoho responded.
“Invitations were sent out in the open and everybody attended.”
“Naadu Mills is a very private person,” Mr Anyidoho said.
Mr Anyidoho, an aide to the former President said he and other colleagues were working hard to keep the memory of Professor Mills.
“More of his politics, trying to redefine and reshape the political struggles here, moving away from the politics of vindictiveness to the process of inclusion and association,” were some of the things they were working to keep, he said.

You see even the wife was absent yet, Madam Mogtari was everywhere attacking NPP, The ill-treatment you gave her made her abstain from the event. And you Koku Anyidoho can't you shut your b.ig mou.th a bit?
NAADU MILLS IS A WOMAN OF INTERGRITY WHO DOES NOT MEDDLE IN SENSELESSSS POLITICS
oh so the Mill's wife did not even attend the event and those ed10ts were talking about Nana Addo and NPP not attending. these ndc ple are really funny. I am still waiting to see if there is a single person with brain in that party. they all seem to be thinking through their ***barred word*** to me. if someone who is close to Mills more than anyone and who probably knows more about the cause of death refuses to attend such a wasteful event, how much more those of us who are still waiting to what killed or lead to the man's death. You (ndc) are the only ple who knew what lead to the man's death and must carry the cross alone.
The wife was absent and yet Motgari was on toop on nana Addo and his competent leaders...........asem beba dabi
Naadu Mills the widow and the half of President Mills was absent from the ndc unnecessary 5th anniversary and they were talking of the absence of the government and the NPP government instead of talking about Mrs Mills. I'm happy NPP chose not to be part of a bogus ceremony deemed to revive the dying ndc party, they thought they could court sympathy by doing that but it fell flat on their faces and they are crying why the government didn't take part of something they intentionally caused the death of the Man for sympathy at every giving time. Why are they not accusing JJ Rawlings and his wife for not attending? If anything they brought Prof. Mills into politics. Ndc all in their lives is politics and nothing else but the sad episode is they are not politicians so they make it dirty and unattractive. Who would like to be part of an ndc organised anniversary full of politics than what it's intended for. Well done NPP for not showing up,you are sensible and very matured and responsible,I know NPP wouldn't be part of a bogus something. They are very matured democratic party and always want to show the beauty of democracy and governance and wouldn't be part of an unnecessary things when there are better things to do to help the country. Ndc are just desperate and frustrated and just don't know what to do and they are weeping more than the bereaved family. This too is meaningless and has fallen flat.
The widow of the late president has become a private person. When you are celebrating is 5th anniversary. And you have the guest to insult Nana Addo. God Bless You.
Naadu Mills, "a private person"? 'nough said
OH KOKU !!!!!!!and these NDC criminal party murderes ; WHY SHOULD NAADU MILLS attend such corrupted ceremony ; the lady is now aware that her husband Atta MIlls was badly treated by the NDC and perhaps may have brutally murdered by elements in the NDC party to pave way for Jon Mahama to become President ; WHY should the lady upon knowlegde of his husband's murder associate herself with the NDC and people like Jon Mahama and reff -rafs like Koku ; afterll the lady knows the body of Atta Mills have being removed long time ago besides why should the NDC bury Atta Mills alone in a secluded area at Osu when the man does not is not a native of Osu ans should have been sent to his home town if there was no callous reasononing behind the death of Atta Mills; at best NDC is the most criminal gang party established by JJ Rawlings and why should the lady associate herself with such criminal gang .
The wife of the late President (Atta Mills) did NOT attend the 5th Anniversary, HOW MUCH MORE the present President will attend such a waste function. MORGTARI SHOULD HEAR. She has known that the Husband was intentionally killed and that she will NOT partake in any function concerning the late husband. NDC should stop propaganda with the death of late President otherwise they will loose more votes coming years.
