"There is no winner or loser in this, we are all winners because we will continue to live in peace with one another and cooperate with one another across many spheres” Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia said while reacting to the ITLOS ruling regarding the maritime boundary battle.
ITLOS on Saturday, 23 September ruled in favour of Ghana, a development that further protects Ghana’s maritime boundary.
Commenting on the development at an event in Accra after the ruling, Dr Bawumia added: “God has ordained today not only as a remarkable day; we also have some very good news as the country Ghana. We have been in a very friendly and brotherly dispute with our brothers Cote d’Ivoire over the demarcation of our maritime boundaries.
This friendly and brotherly dispute was taken to the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea and judgment was rendered today and that judgment is very consistent with Ghana’s position.
We are thankful to God. We are also thankful to our brothers from Cote d’Ivoire and the Government of Cote d’Ivoire. There is no winner or loser in this, we are all winners because we will continue to live in peace with one another and cooperate with one another across many spheres.”

NDC will fail in their attempt to bring confusion between Nana and Bawumia, we're aware of all their evil deeds. Dr. Bawumia doesn't rush nor lead Nana Addo. In fact the president is very comfortable and happy with wonderful work and support of his darling Veep. As a veteran and experience politician he's given every member of his competent team clear responsible role to play, making his young gov't the most beautiful and competent this nation has had. Veep's statement is in order, mature and reconciliatory. God bless NANA/BAWUMIA. Long live Ghana, long live Ivory Coast.
Dr Bawumia don't mine those against . they are all NDC members in disgust
Al Qaeda Boko Haram Muslim Vice Preisent should give us a break.
What are you people talking about? I still stand by my earlier submission. Barwumia is always getting ahead of Nana addo. I am not against his statement, of course it's a good statement. My point is, he is only a voice president and must be content with that. If you go to the US and other jurisdictions you don't even hear the vice president talking too much. Barwumia is behaving as if he is the elected president, he is only appointed to partner Nana. He needs to slow down and stop rushing to succeed Nana addo. I now understand Quattro.
What a sensible, responsible, peaceful citizen of the land! Ghana and the Cote d'Ivoire are natural, brotherly and necessary neighbors.Ghana and the Ivory Coast are necessarily inter-dependent. No hard feelings anywhere about the ITLOS judgment 24 September, 2017 Good luck to both Ghanaians and the Ivorians.
This is a statement that shows maturity unlike what the NDC issued trying to play politics with.Even the Ivoirians will be pleased to read because it is reconciliatory. NDC was the first to issue a statement attributing the success to the late president,Prof Atta Mills and Mahama, but listen how Bawumia went about it.Oh NDC, Bawumia will always beat you in every aspect because you do politics with everything. GROW
You are right my brother The vice president be too known. I really don't like his rushing attitude at all. He is doing all these because he thinks he can take over after nana two terms. He is a joke. Alan will take over after nana. Too known Bawumia
Ebo the NPP government has already issued a statement on the ruling. Bawumia's statement is not the first statement NPP has issued. I will entreat you to rather read and stop been ***barred word***. Everybody has a right to comment on the issue Bawumia is expressing his opinion
You know what? Nana addo wants everyone in his government to be the first to be seen or heard. He has asked all of them to take initiatives to be more visible and proactive to the citizenry. This way, your ndc propaganda against his person as a dictator would no more hold. Thank you for understanding.
Stop being myopic in your expression. Where is the rush? There is absolutely nothing wrong with this fine statement from the Vice Prez. In fact this is a prudent statement and signal he sent out there! Prez Nana Akufo-Addo can make any an excellent statement on this issue at anytime. I really don't under why some people take things too personal. Taking the shine out of the Prez? Seriously? Let's grow up and stop some of these unnecessary sentiments.
