The Head Pastor of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Pastor Mensa Otabil on Sunday armed his congregation with what he described as the three-pronged responses to anyone who would ask them about issues concerning himself and the collapsed Capital Bank.
"I felt that as your pastor, I owe you an explanation, to come to church and to make a statement of what my views are, so that when you go out and people come out with information, you will have a response to give to them," he said to a thunderous applause.
Graphic Online’s Donald Ato Dapatem reported that with the congregation eager with rapt attention to jot down and probably record the responses, Pastor Otabil said "these are the three statements I will make with regard to the response I want to give, which I expect you to carry along to explain what is happening.”
"My first statement is that God is good, my second statement is that, God is good and my third statement is that, God is good."
Pastor Otabil who said he was in Zimbabwe preaching at the church of his friend and an international evangelist, Tudor Bismark, during the week said he had heard of many things been said about him, regarding the bank and felt that he had to offer the congregation some information to answer whenever faced with the issue.
After this, he read a lot of Psalms in the Holy Bible and led the congregation into praises and worship intermittently making comments that reinforced the greatness of God.

@Ama i want you to expand on your assertion that well respected people are invited to chair boards. I will help you in this regard, they have duties and responsibilities. Tell me what these durties and responsibilities are. I know that proving criminal intent is difficult but does Otabil not have a moral duty to make sure that the assets of the corporate entity is kept well as especially they are for depositors some of them very poor? No, Not in your conscience. His situation is perculiar as some of the money went directly to him and his enterprise. I have always maintained that it is people like you who have caused our kingsmen to trek on the desert ending up as slave sold on the open markets of Lybia. This is because you have an unflinching desire to support wrong doing making people like Otabil have the effontry to rub salt in the wounds of the deprived. You may be having an abundance of facilities but cast your mind on those who have lost their jobs and those who are on meagre incomes but paying taxes which will inevitably be used in paying those bad debts that your "respectable man of God" have caused.
Ghanaians sadly have this devilish penchant to destroy their own. If Otabil was a non-executive board chairman it is highly unfair for anybody to accuse and destroy his reputation for "stealing" money. I am sure many well respected people are invited to chair boards and committees as honorary or non-executive heads. Depending on the organization, the person will not be involved in the day to day running of the organization although they are the face of the organization. But again instead of reading and seeking truth, Ghanaians will destroy the reputation you have built over a lifetime. Sometimes it seems if you want to succeed as a Ghanaian you have go as far away from Ghana as possible. How many people living in Ghana have achieved any thing substantial without being accused in one way or the other? Look at Anas, and how they have successfully denigrated him. I will advise Otabil to hold a press conference and thoroughly address the issue once and for all. We are in an information age and merely say God is good (He truly is!) is sadly not enough. Talk to some good PR people and set the record straight.
Classical Conman!! His congregation who are discerning know that GOD IS GOOD is NOT the answer to the lives he's wrecked with the stealing that went on at capital bank!!
