The government of Ghana has imposed a temporary ban on travelers from countries that have recorded 200 or more cases of coronavirus.
"All travel to Ghana is strongly discouraged until further notice. Any traveller, except for Ghanaian citizens and persons with Ghana residence permits, who, within, the last 14 days, has been to a country that has recorded at least 200 cases of Covid-19, will not be admitted into the Ghanaian jurisdiction. Airlines are instructed not to allow such persons to embark" a statement from the Ministry of Information indicated.
This follows the news of six persons who have been infected with the virus in Ghana.
The statement which was signed by the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah further indicated that "there will be a mandatory 14-day self-quarantine for persons who are otherwise allowed to enter the Ghanaian jurisdiction”

It a good decision although it took long to come out with it but I have a question what are weeping to our children going to school
We need not introduce any element of politics into this. We thank God had it not been for those entering the country we would have been free. Let's all keep the pieces of advice given by our medical team and support the government in their efforts to contain the disease. God bless us all. Good night.
I wonder why it has taken the government soo long to do this important thing. You denied Ghanaian students in China entry but allowed others to to enter until they have brought the virus before doing what should have been done first.
It has been long over due....International diplomacy over the lives of citizens in the country....
What!the most nasty decision you have make.what, country with 200 above recorded cases are not allow to enter the country.Hmm what about does with 199 recorded cases are allow to enter the country.GHanaians open your eyes because we are leave under incompetent administration of our life's.Mr.president I can confirm to you that your administration is the worse ever Ghanaians has be under.Administration of lies.Mr.president I can tell you that you are the cause of COVID-19 outbreak in Ghana
How less riskier will it be allowing travelers from countries who have recorded 198 cases of covid-19 virus compared to those who have recorded 200 or more cases? This number 200 does not make sense from a risk analysis perspective. The ban should apply to every country that has recorded at least a case in covid-19. The actual numbers could be higher given the number of cases which all surprisingly turned negative before our first confirmed cases. This is not a disease to play politics with and even Uncle Sam(US) is struggling and has declared a National Emergency. It is a disease that is no respecter of the size or might of your economy and given that WHO has already expressed concern with Ghana's level of preparedness we could be in for a very rough ride. Transparency is key or else we are all at risk. We should take bold and strong measures.
We need to intensify our prayers for the Divine interventions. The children of God will survive if only they will listen to their maker.
I think this ban should have been issued long time, yet it's not too late to take this decision as a nation. Thanks to you Mr President.
This is not a well thought through decision. Please leaders of Ghana kindly display some small depth
This ban was supposed to happen long time ago.we find it hard to take decision on our own .God help us
