Restriction of movement in Greater Accra, Kumasi and Kasoa has been extended for one more week.
This was announced by President Akufo-Addo during his 6th address to the nation on the coronavirus pandemic.
If you may recall, a 14-day restriction was imposed with the aim of controlling the spread of the novel Coronavirus and according to the President, "it is important that we stay the course".
He said even though he doesn't take delight in imposing restrictions, the "fight is not yet over; we are by no means out of the woods yet" hence we must stay at home.
"While the results are encouraging we expect to be able to test some 10,000 additional samples in the coming week to give us a clearer picture to enable us take a decision on the way forward...however, this fight is not yet over and we are by no means out of the woods yet...I've come to you this evening to ask for your continued patience as we continue to implement the efforts that have so far proven to be helpful. It is important that we stay the course and bear with the difficulties that come with it; the final results will be freedom from the virus. So the decision has been taken through the issuance of another executive instrument to extend the restrictions of movement in the Greater Accra Metropolitan areas and Kasoa and the Greater Kumasi Metropolitan areas by one more week; meaning 1 am, 13th April, subject to review" he opined
Meanwhile, the number of cases recorded in Ghana has climbed up to 378 with 6 deaths.

IT IS INTERESTING TO FOLLOW THE ARGUMENT OF ADOM OTCHERE ABOUT A POSSIBLE DELAY OF DECEMBER 2020 ELECTIONS AT METRO TV, GOOD EVENING GHANA. THE CONSTITUTION OF GHANA GIVES A CLEAR GUIDE WITHOUT ANY AMBIGUITY WHEN SYSTEMATICALLY FOLLOWED. ADOM OTCHERE'S SELF-DEBATE COMPLICATES A SIMPLE MATTER. COVID-19 HAS ALREADY GOT TOGO INTO A STATE OF EMERGENCY. IF SITUATION GET TOO BAD AND THE PRESIDENT DECLARES A STATE OF EMERGENCY WE SHALL NOT BE THE FIRST TO DO THAT. WE PRAY THAT IT NEVER GETS ANYWHERE NEAR THAT, EVEN THOUGH SOME OPPOSITION MPS HAVE WISHED FOR THAT. NANA ADDO AND NPP IS IN A VERY GOOD SHAPE NOW AND WOULD NOT WISH FOR A DELAY IN THE ELECTIONS. TACTICALLY, NANA ADOM HAS CAREFULLY MANAGED THE LOCKDOWN IN GREATER ACCRA TOGETHER WITH KASOA AND THE GREATER KUMASI, A NEW DESCRIPTION INTRODUCED BY COVID-19. NANA ADDO HAS BEEN RELUCTANT TO CONSIDER A TOTAL AND NATIONWIDE LOCKDOWN IN SPITE OF THE PRESSURE ON HIM TO DO THAT. HE KNOWS THAT SUCH A MOVE CAN DEGENERATE TO A STATE OF EMERGENCY. WHILE ADOM OTCHERE CONFUSES ARTICLE 31 WITH 113 AND OTHERS, THE SITUATION IS UNAMBIGUOUS, VERY CLEAR AND SIMPLE. ARTICLE 31 DEMANDS THAT THE PRESIDENT CONSULTS THE COUNCIL OF STATE TO DECLARE A STATE OF EMERGENCY. ARTICLE 113 ALSO ALLOW THE PRESIDENT TO REVIEW THE TIMESPAN OF THE PARLIAMENT, WHICH WOULD BECOME NECESSARY ONLY IN THE STATE OF EMERGENCY. IT WAS INTRIGUING FOR ADOM OTCHERE TO PLACE MUCH EMPHASIS ON ARTICLE 113 AT THE EXPENSE OF ARTICLE 31. 113 IS NOT AN ALTERNATIVE OPTION TO ARTICLE 31. NO. ARTICLE 31 INTELLIGIBLY NECESSITATES ARTICLE 113 AND NOT THE VICE VERSA. ANY NATIONAL CRISIS, SUCH AS A PERSISTENT PANDEMIC OR WHATEVER, THAT CAN INSTIGATE A DELAY IN AN ELECTION WOULD CERTAINLY HAS THE CAPACITY TO INSTIGATE A STATE OF EMERGENCY. NO GOVERNMENT WOULD EVER IMAGINE ARTICLE 113 WITHOUT ARTICLE 31 BEING ALREADY IN PLACE.
What are these lazy arsholes updating GHS website doing? They are always late! It now serves as an archive instead of being a source of credible and timely news on the covid-19 virus. Information is only as useful as it is timely. They should not add to our frustrations with these delays and relaying information to us!
Cheap populist policies. Even during national disasters, this short dwarf is thinking of winning the elections
I think Nana Addo has done well by extending the lockdown but fail to tell us why he and his NADMO guys are not observing the social distancing. i say this because earlier today, lots of people were crowded at Kwame Nkrumah circle to collect food. what a funkin way of doing things in this country. Nana must act fast on that particular issue.
May fire burn opposers on Nana Addo Demonic opponents ***barred word*** braggarts some ***barred word*** people. NANA thumbs up.God bless u
Pls Mr. President be realistic and stop this underground campaign
Gradually there will be pockets of uprising by some citizens if the government decides to play politics with this current predicament. The government shld immediately stop this freebies messages with the hope the people will always sing praises. The opposition parties must act now and help the government adopt better solutions else they will be campaigning at the judgement of
This is purely a campaign strategy adopted by the government to increase it votes. I sense some vote buying in the midst of this pandemic and again an opportunity to siphone funds in the name of fighting the pandemic. The government must order every citizen to wear masks to work places in the coming days.
