Nigeria's largest opposition political party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has charged President Muhammadu Buhari "to wake up to both his domestic and international responsibilities, days after a facility belonging to the Nigerian High Commission in Accra was destroyed.
The PDP in a statement said the demolition of a building within the premises of Nigeria’s High Commission by unknown persons in Accra, Ghana, “is a huge contempt which the (Muhammadu) Buhari presidency could have stopped through engagements at the highest level of diplomatic relations.”
It argued that "the Buhari Presidency could have stopped through engagements at the highest level of diplomatic relations, but failed as a result of sheer incompetence and incapacity to articulate our national pride before other world leaders".

Demolition of Embassy: Buhari APC Have Brought Shame to Nigeria - PDP
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says the demolition of the Nigeria Embassy in Ghana has further shown how Buhari Presidency and the All Progressives Congress (APC) incompetence has destroyed the respect and honour other nations had for our country.
The party said that the embarrassing situation in Ghana has again highlighted the poor rating of the Buhari Presidency by other nations, exposed its lack of capacity to exude our nation pride as well as its failure to meaningfully engage other world leaders on diplomatic issues.
The PDP described as disheartening that since the incident. President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC have not demonstrated the littlest effort to preserve our nation's integrity, beyond the tepid statements by our Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyema.
Our party holds that the demolition of our nation's embassy is a huge contempt, which the Buhari Presidency could have stopped through engagements at the highest level of diplomatic relations, but failed as a result of sheer incompetence and incapacity to articulate our national pride before other world leaders.
This situation has further explained why attacks on Nigerians and Nigerian interests in foreign lands had escalated under the Buhari administration, with Nigerians being harassed and killed in various parts of the world by assailants, who take advantage of the incompetence and weaknesses of the current government in Nigeria.
The PDP particularly recalls how the Buhari administration exhibited unpardonable weakness and failed to protect innocent Nigerians who were being killed in violent xenophobic attacks in South Africa last year.
The PDP therefore calls on President Buhari to wake up both to his domestic and international responsibilities and save our nation from further embarrassing situations across the globe.

MAY I KNOW IF NIGERIANS WILL ALLOW GHANAIANS TO USE THIER AIRPORTS AS COCAINE TRANSIT BUSSINESS CENTER? OR TO TRAVEL ALL OVER THE WORLD WITH GHANA PASSPORTS?DO THEY ACCEPT OPEN STREET GHANAIANS UNDER AGED GIRLS PROSTITUTION IN THEIR COUNTRY?OR FREELY OPERATING TAXI CAB WORK IN THEIR COUNTRY?IT IS ONLY UNDER JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA AND THE NDC POLITICAL PARTY IN GHANA.NEVER AGAIN JDM AND NDC.
Let's be magnanimous in our reportage of this unfortunate incident. The Nigerian Embassy in Ghana has not been either touched or demolished. I drove past it yesterday and the embassy is in tact. Rather, an adjacent building which was put up without due process and recourse to the land owners. The building as I'm told, was pulled down with a court order by the owners of the original property.
PDP is the problem in Nigeria like ndc is a problem in Ghana! Can Ghana embassy in Nigeria build a structure on their land without permit? The Osu traditional council did the wrong move by acting on their own but Nigerians can't misbehave on that ! This lawlessness in our country is because of ndc the ndc some people think Ghana is their property so can own and destroy it. We will never give them the chance no matter how your predictions.
Such comments are very necessary. Has there been any fact finding group from the opposition to ascertain the reasons for the demolition of the structure. If the commission had permit to erect that structure do you think that they would have sat down unconcerned for the building to be demolished. In as much as we are not happy to see the structure go down, I also think that you need to learn to abide by the rules governing every country you move into. This is the first time a structure belonging to foreigners has been pulled down. Can the Ghana high commission in Nigeria erect any structure on a parcel of land without due process? Lear to abide by rules and stop making such sweeping statements.
