The President of the Republic, HE Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo, has directed the Auditor-General, Mr. Yaw Domelevo to proceed on his accumulated leave of one hundred and twenty-three (123) working days effective July 1, 2020.
In a statement signed by the Director Of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, he explained that the President's decision to direct Mr. Yaw Domelevo to take his accumulated leave is based on sections 20(1) and 31 of the Labour Act, 2003 (Act 651), which apply to all workers, including Public Office holders such as the Auditor-General.
"According to the act, a worker is entitled to annual leave with full pay, in a calendar year of continuous service, which cannot be relinquished or forgone by the worker or the employer," the statement added.

Nana addo dankwa akufu addo is that you???? Truuuuuue colours!
Before him there was an auditor general and after him there will be an auditor general. Him proceeding on leave doesn't mean the whole institution is on leave too. Don't forget he worked with people not just only him, in fact he was actually a figurehead, the real personnel did all the job. Do you remember what he said during the mps case? He doesn't work alone, there are still qualified and honest persons there in his stead. Little mind don biko hatred and badwill is eating you up. Se oman no yeyie a, eye ma yenyinaa wae.
Prof. Samuel Kobina Annim was appointed as the Government Statistician on March 1, 2019. He has never taken a leave. When is he going on leave? Ghana Statistical Service please answer Ghanaians.
Why are senior officials allowed to work in Ghana without taking vacation? In fact, it is a prudent internal control practice for all senior offiers to take extended vacation. This is Auditing 101. An auditor at the level of Mr. Domelevo should know this. I am surprised that he actually has 123 unused vacation days. In the US, federal and state authorities required officers in sensitive positions in financial institutions to take mandatory vacation. To quote a common statutory regulation, "Employees in such sensitive positions should be required to take at least two consecutive weeks of vacation (or other leave) on an annual basis. During such time, the officer or employee must be off-site and off-line. In other words, not only should he/she be physically absent from your premises, but he/she should also not be permitted to effect any transactions or other banking business from off-site, such as through an off-site computer link. "
Nana Addo has even done well. It's long over due. How can one be voted out of power and then appoint someone to do his bidding for him? How can you be in office for 3 years without leave? It means the Auditor General himself is sitting on rot.
This is long over-due. We don't care what anyone says. Is it a lawful directive? If not NDC should take the matter to court and let's have our peace. 444444444444444444444 more 4 NANA ooooooo!
How on earth could you have accumulated leave of 132 days. I think these public office holders should learn to do the right thing. Unfortunately, you will have bigots reading different meanings to this. Go and rest sir.
ITS A SHAME . WHEN WILL GHANA LEARN ? PLEASE MASTER JUST DON'T DO ANYTHING . PROCEED ON YOUR LEAVE AND LETS SEE THE AFTER MAT .YOU CAN RUN BUT YOU CAN'T HIDE LET THEM CHOP CHOP AND CHOP. ONE DAY THE MASTER WILL COME . THE SAME THING AS AMERICA DONALD TRUMP DON'T ANY WATCHED MAN NEAR HIM, SO YOU CAN IMAGINE THE SAME THING IN GHANA
Hmmmm. When the cat is away, the rats are going to have a field's day. And must you force him to go on leave at such a time where procurement breaches will be very common? So much impunity going on in this country! I appeal to foreign donors to suspend all donations to Ghana until we can have a handle on corruption. It is simply too much!
