A letter issued Friday, July 3, and signed by the Director of Communications at the Office of the President, said, Mr Ahenkorah as a person certified to be positive for the virus, visited a registration centre in his constituency before the period of self-isolation was complete.
"President Akufo-Addo is admonishing all of his appointeesto bear in mind that theyare toprovide leadership, at all times, for adherence to the protocols that have been established to help the nation defeat COVID-19," the statement said.

His mistake was in thinking that he would be allowed the impunity of the akyem lot. The resignation is nothing but a publicity stunt. He will soon find himself in the silent comfort of a company board. In the land of the gullible, it would be overkill to believe Akofo ado.
After admitting and resigning /vacating his position as the deputy minister of trade , it must not end there. He should proceed to do the most honorable thing by vacating or relinquishing his seat as a member of parliament. So far he has demonstrated that he can not legislate a reform or a law to be followed by his constituents. If he fails to do the right thing his constituents can force him to resign as a member of parliament and we are waiting to see just that.
Well, he has resigned and the president has done his part by accepting his resignation. The president should have fired him first and not to wait for him to resign. He violated the protocols and the LI instituted for the wearing of mask to public places and also social distancing. What are the wages of that? What happens to those who violate these LIs? People are in jail now for violating these and the same should apply to this lawless law maker. I will be totally surprised if the people of Tema West retain him as their law maker. A lawmaker should not be a breaker of laws with impunity. He is a total disgrace and put the lives of people at risk.
He has acted honourably? he should be prosecuted like everyone else. Different rules should not apply to politicians in power and lay pastors
Mere resignation is not enough. What is required is prosecution. Incompetent and liability president.
By the way what is this thing about a state agency doing its legitimate mandated work and politicians running around claiming to be observing, monitoring, supervising, etc. EC registration, NIA registration, elections and many others. the worse part is he would not go to work because he is isolating but found his way to registration centers. Hope otherwise will learn from this experiences and desist going forward.
