Former Member of Parliament(MP) for Kumbungu constituency, Ras Mubarak says any attempt by Achimota School to appeal the High Court's ruling of their saga with the Rastafarians will be an “absolute waste of time”.
He claims the court has been “fair” to the Rastafarian students – after commending the court for putting Ghana on a higher pedestal in issues of human rights.
“These kids are the future; hence, we can't stop their right to education just because they are Rastafarians. Will their locks affect their brains in any way?” he questioned in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show, 'Ghana Monte'.
He, however, described those against the ruling as “mentally enslaved”.
“This is what Bob Marley has been preaching for years but a lot of people are still incarcerated. If the whites are allowed to have their hairstyle in Achimota school, why disallow others because they are blacks,” He told host Kwesi Aboagye.
