Bernard Allotey Jacobs has bemoaned the numerous accidents occuring on the Accra to Cape Coast/Takoradi roads.
Statistics show that over 700 people have died of road accidents from January to March this year.
Last year, thousands of road accidents were recorded in the country.
Road accidents are a major concern to Ghanaians as they seek after lasting solution to this problem.
Speaking on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' programme, the former NDC Central Regional Chairman also raised concerns over this alarming situation.
He wondered why the accidents on particularly the Accra - Cape Coast and Takoradi roads and what the authorities are doing to curb the issue.
To him, "the Accra-Cape Coast/Takoradi road is the devil's triangle. It appears witches and wizards go into a meeting with the drivers for the accidents to be happening on such roads".
He stressed one of the causes is the attitude of the road users, specifically drivers who ply such roads.
He explained that many of the drivers overspeed and/or engage in reckless overtaking resulting in the accidents.
Another cause, he further cited, is engineering of the roads as they are somehow designed to be a death trap.
Allotey Jacobs also called on the road authorities to be up and doing in enforcing the traffic regulations.

True talk, 65 years as an independent country Ghana political leaders can't dualize the road linking the 2 major cities in the country i.e. Accra-Kumasi. We have 9 out of the 16 regions all converging in Kumasi to get to the capital Accra on a single lane road, ie upper west, upper east, Savannah, north east, northern, Bono, Bono east, Ahafo and Ashanti regions not to talk of our neighboring countries i.e. Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger. Former president kufour actually initiated moves to have this road dualize, unfortunately those who took over from him went to sleep. If you have people like the current crop of so called politicians leading a country, such a country is doomed. For this crop of politicians represents nobody but themselves. Thus the many fatalities we record on our major highways day and night. 16 regions you can't link them with good roads, I pity my beloved country. Maybe we need to thinking of importing a president, ministers, MP's , MMDCEs and CEO's from countries that have leaders with a vision. Rwanda came out of a genocide a few years ago but they are making inroads far better than Ghana. Leadership failure is Ghana's bane. The country is yet to get a leader. Apart from Nkrumah, Colonel Acheampong and to some extent former president kufour, the rest are only adding up to the numbers. Ghana is becoming a pale shadow of itself
