Osofo Kyiri Abosom, the Head Pastor of Life Assembly Worship Centre, has admonished Archbishop Charles Agyinasare and his Perez Chapel to call off their declaration of fast and prayer against the deity at Nogokpo.
The Presiding Bishop of Perez Chapel International, Benjamin Ohene Aboagye, on Sunday, June 4, declared a week-long fast and prayers to protect their General Overseer who has incurred the wrath of the people of Nogokpo for citing an encounter he had with evil spirits within the community in a sermon he preached in the church.
“On the 25th of last month, during our Supernatural Empowerment Summit, Archbishop Charles Agyinasare made a statement concerning the Nogokpo issue. I think we are all aware of the issue in Ghana. It is trending on social media and other platforms. We, the Perez Council, on behalf of the Executive Council, have taken notice of all these things and this is what the Executive Council is saying.
“We are declaring a one-week fast from the 5th to the 11th of this month, and we expect all pastors, elders, deacons, deaconesses, and all our churches to participate in this fast for one week. We believe that God is our helper. He is our rock. He is the one we look up to. So this is the decision we have taken for now. We expect everyone [in all our branches] to take part in this fast,” Bishop Ohene Aboagye told the congregants.
Expressing his opinions on the matter on Peace FM news bulletin at 12 noon, Osofo Kyiri Abosom questioned the logic in the church embarking on a fast and prayer over Nogokpo.
"If Agyinasare has declared fasting and prayer to meet Nogokpo spirit, then he believes there is a powerful spirit over there. Then he should go and apologize to it. Because you are declaring fasting for what? He should stop it. If Perez Chapel does fasting and prayer to meet Nogokpo, then there is no power in the church, but if there is power in it, there is no need to do fasting and prayer," he said.
To him, "if Nogokpo indeed has power, then it should show its power for us to see".

This Agyin Asare and Nogokpo banter is being dragged to far. Fact is that Agyin Asare's pronouncement was in bad taste. The constitution recognizes all the religious denominations in Ghana ie Christianity, Islam and traditional religion. The constitution equally guarantee's freedom of worship. Nobody can force another to believe in what he or she believes in so no need condemning others people's beliefs . However the Bishop has openly come out to explain himself and went ahead to apologize and the matter should ended with his apology. For the traditional heads of Nogokpo to also issue a 2 week ultimatum to appear before them in my view is also wrong. What is the guarantee that if the Bishop goes ahead to meet with the people of Nogokpo in their backyard he will be safe? Can a traditional authority or group,of people summon someone who is not their tribes man or an indegene of their community to appear before them? For us in Ghana once you marry from a particular ethnic group , the whole ethnic group becomes your inlaws. Inlaws don't fight. If I don't like you, i won't come for your daughter in marriage. If Agyin Asares children are attacked at their father's home the next place for them to seek refuge is their uncle home in ewe land so why this needless tango. To the people of Nogokpo , ease learn to forgive once an apology has been rendered. We are one nation, one people, one destiny.
I don’t support Agyin Asare insulting the people of Nogopkpo but the truth is that he talked against the town and not the shrine. Even though he couldn’t apologize properly, an invitation should be led by the chief and not the shrine. What is happening now and the inclusion of tribalism doesn’t make sense anymore. You can’t use your gods to threaten anyone. Allow the gods to rest.
Even Jesus Christ fasted for 40 days and nights to meet his foe. so what is wrong in Agyin Asare fasting for a week
The Kyiri Abosom guy is misleading Agyin Asare to the slaughterhouse.
Kyiri abosom has also be going round claiming he is destroying idols, he has heard of nogokpo severally. Why didn't he also go there and destroy the idol? Church business men
