Six people sustained injuries when the bus in which they travelling from Kumasi to Manso Abore in the Amansie West District of Ashanti somersaulted three times as a result of a burst back tyre.
Three of the injured were said to be in critical condition, including the driver�s mate, Paul, who fell off the bus and had a big cut on his head, and a 43-year-old woman whose right arm was cut off.
Two of the injured persons were sent to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital whilst the other was sent to the Abinkyiman Hospital at Anwiankwanta, including the driver�s mate who could not be admitted at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital due to lack of space.
The Anwiankwanta Police Station Officer, Inspector Simon Oduro, told The Finder that the driver of the vehicle, Nichodemus Adutwum, believed to be in his late 20s, rushed to the police to lodge a complaint about the accident.
He said, according to the driver, the sprinter bus, with registration number AS 5631 14, on reaching Ofoase Nkwanta had a burst tyre and the vehicle somersaulted two times and landed on its side.
An eyewitness told this reporter that the driver was crossed by a Ssanyong urvan bus which was also travelling on the road.
