Four people sustained injuries on Thursday night when one of the vehicles in the presidential convoy was involved in an accident.
President John Dramani Mahama was on his way to Agordake in the Volta Region to commission a pontoon when the accident occurred between Ekye Amanfrom and Agordake around 7pm.
The accident vehicle was a Toyota Landcruiser which had been allocated to the press corp that accompanied the president.
The Minister of Communications, Dr Edward Omane Boamah confirming the accident on Accra-based Adom FM Friday morning said the injured were treated by the medical team that accompanied the president.
According to Graphic Online’s Eastern Regional Correspondent, George Folley who covered the President's "Accounting to the people" tour of the Eastern region the accident vehicle was later towed away,
President Mahama continued his tour after the incident and later went to Kpando to meet with the chiefs and people around 11pm.
