Head Pastor of the Church of Pentecost at Odorkor in the Greater Accra Region is calling on the church authorities of various branches to expel church members who do not vote in the December 7 general elections.
Describing those who have refused to vote as a “good for nothing” citizens, Apostle Badu cautioned church members across the country to take the December polls more serious.
“If you don’t vote, it means you have something wrong with your head. As a church member and Christian it is mandated for you to vote. If you don’t then it means we take you off as a church member. I want everyone to take this election as more serious than ever...,” he declared.
Apostle Badu in an interview with Adom News during the church Peace campaign service dubbed ‘Agent of Peace’ said, people who do not vote are 'enemies of progress' and must not be entertained in their respective churches and in the country as whole.
“As a pastor and church member, your inability to vote means you are unserious and unpatriotic. If you don’t vote you are not helping the nation. Every genuine pastor makes sure to vote but does not go ahead to declare their political stands to the congregation” he stated.
Meanwhile, the head pastor of the Palace Chapel Grace Temple at Spintex in Accra, Prophet Nana Adepa believes voting is not biblical hence must not be imposed on Christians.
“The role of Christians ahead of the 2016 polls is to watch and pray to prevail before, during and after the elections but not to be forced or coerced" he added.

IF ANYONE THINKS THAT DEMOCRACY WAS BROUGHT TO AFRICA TO HELP US DEVELOP THEN THAT PERSON HAS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM WITH HIS HEAD. DEMOCRACY WAS ESTABLISH TO MAKE SURE THAT THE WHITE MAN WILL CONTINUE TO RULE US. FIRST THE ASPIRING PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE IS FUNDED BY THEM SO THAT WHEN THEY COME TO POWER THE WHITMAN WHO`S MONEY THEY USED TO CAMPAIGN BECOMES MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOU THE ELECTORATE
WHAT GOOD HAS VOTING BROUGHT TO THE PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY? IGNORANCE. DEMOCRACY GIVES US THE RIGHT TO DECIDE WHATEVER WE WANT TO DO. IF YOU HAVE LOST FAITH IN ALL THE POLITICAL PARTIES MASSA DONT VOTE. DONT WASTE YOUR PRECIOUS TIME VOTING FOR A TIFF.
@Fafa. The Area Head of Odorkor is Apostle Johnson Agyeman Badu. So the journalist is right. I share the view of the Apostle that Christians must vote. But I disagree with him if he concludes that one is good for nothing if one fails or decides not to vote. Voting is a right enshrined in our electoral laws. If one fails to exercise his right, no-one blames or accuses the person of committing a crime. It is not a crime for one to be described as good for nothing.
WHICH PENTECOST APOSTLE OR PASTOR SAID SO PLEASE THE WHOLE STORY IS INACCURATE AND FALSE THAT IS TYPE OF JOURNALIST GHANA IS PRACTISING OO. IS NOT IN ANY PENTECOST DOCTRINE THAT IF YOU FAILED TO VOTE THE CHURCH WILL EXPEL YOU FROM THE CHURCH.
this is a ***barred word*** observation. what has d ***barred word*** church of pentecost offered this nation ? i have monitored them to be very bias religiously. such ***barred word*** comments must not be viewed on d net. unrepentant Pentecostals.
We have a big problem as a nation. Is the chairman of the Christian Council of Ghana note voted into office? Don't we have laws in the Holy Bible that have to be followed? Is the Christian saying when they allowed the non-christians to vote and things turned out hard in the country, it will not affect them? Any christian who decided not to vote is not a patriotic citizen. Are the christians saying they don't access any goverment facilities such hospitals, schools, etc? They should stop the joke and come out to vote. As christians, if you allowed evil people to vote, you will also enjoy the consequences. Christian wise up! This is hypocricy! Have you ever see any tradinalist hoading state monies? Those who have been sucking all the state monies in our work places are either christians or moslem. So what are talking about? All the corrupt people in our society are either a christian or moslem. As a traditionalist, I know doing certain things will bring instant justice to me, so I won't attempt doing it. Majority of people who luck moral values are either the so-called christians or moslems. So, you see? They say they won't vote but when those they regarded as evil voted and the government comes to power, the hide under shadow of christianity and be ***barred word*** the state. God help our Homeland Ghana!!!
Stop writing garbage about the Church of Pentecost. There's no head pastor in Odorkor called Apostle Badu. This is a made-up story just to tarnish the image of the church. You couldn't even add a first name to it, just keep lying. Even the headline is purely annoying. This is why journalism in Ghana is complete ***barred word***.
Christians are mandated to vote. Operative word MANDATED. Question is by who? As stated in which part of our Christian constitution? Or by the gospel according to Badu chapter 1 verses 1-3 . When someone who claims knowledge of God's word decides to act like a bu_ff_00_n, I shudder to think what cra--p is fed you to his congregants and their chances of salvation!
@Eric.. are u in your own comment admitting that the w-ise ones have not been voting all along. Then why don't you join them? They must have w-ise reasons for not voting. Don't join the other party anymore to vote. If u however change your mind and think that the w-ise ones are the ones who rather vote all the time, then let them keep voting...It is good for the betterment of your life. Don't advocate for the ***barred word*** and wi-se to come together to vote...that is not possible.
End time is surely here. According to Pastor Badu, who also calls himself a Christian, anyone who does not trust man-made rulership and opt not to vote per the country's constitution should not be tolerated in the country. Meanwhile true Christians have decided to remain firm and follow Christ's example as law abiding citizens.
