A new driver’s license and the procedure for its acquisition would be launched on July 18.
Under the new procedure for the acquisition of driver’s license, applicants could receive their licenses within three to four weeks.
Applicants of drivers license whose documents had been approved and their license are ready, would be given a call before the delivery date.
Mr Kwesi Agyemang Busia, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Driver and Vehicles Licensing Authority (DVLA), said this at his first meeting with the staff at the Koforidua office.
He said the new procedure for the acquisition of driver’s license is expected to reduce the time and challenges that people who apply for driver’s license go through.
Mr Busia said the new procedure is also expected to help reduce the issue of fraud and exploitation of people in the acquisition of the driver’s license.
The new CEO said his vision is to help improve upon the service, raise public confidence and improve upon the image of the Authority.
He said his vision is also to help build a strong human resource management department that could help staff to plan their progression and development in the service and create a transparent system for the appreciation of hard work.
He said his visit was to interact with the staff of the Authority at their work places to learn at first hand their challenges and suggestions for the development of the Authority.

The teachers are volinteers any way
Mr Agyeman this is not the kind of change some of us voted for. Why can't an ordinary Drivers Licence be issued in Two days? We are not impressed
Why 2 weeks when it can be done instantly? And that fraud they are planning on every vehicle owner to levy towing fees camouflaged in road worthy certificate? #Our officials must stop defrauding ordinary citizens!!
What kroaaa is this.....today changing.....tomorrow changing.....but same same results.....the staffs of dvla put their family members and friends as goro boys.....when they are transferred....this friend or relative would have been known to all the staffs.. ..so he or she continues to be there operating.....whiles the staffs of dvla makes sure they frustrate applicats....so that they would have to go through goro boys.......goro boys buy dvla free lunch.....and kick back from this goro boys......now the CEO.....has to know all this......why always changing....
sO DOES IT MEAN EVERY NEW GOVERNMENT WILL HAVE TO INTRODUCE NEW THINGS AT DVLA AT THE EXPENSE OF THE CITIZEN? WE ADD NEW THINGS TO BETTER OTHERS LIVES AND DRAINING CITIZENS OF THEIR SMALL MONEY. LABOUR WILL SOON RESPOND AND WE WILL SEE GVT. PLEADING. GOD SAVE GHANA FROM SOME SELFISH INTEREST AND GOD BLESS GHANA.
