The Ministry of Roads and Highways has announced plans to evict squatters dotted along the Accra-Tema Motorway.
The exercise, according to the sector Minister, Mr Kwasi Amoako-Atta is expected to be completed before April 2018.
Speaking on Citi FM Thursday, Mr Amoako-Atta said the move is to pave way for the expansion of the Motorway.
He explained that, the highway, will be expanded from the current four lanes to six lanes over a 30-month period.
“We are going to expand the motorway from the current 4 lanes to 6 lanes. It will take about 30 months because it will be under construction this year. We need to create the right of way and clear everybody for the contractor to carry out this work. [This will be] up to the end of March. Announcements will come [to that effect]. We are going to clear the squatters on both sides,” Kwasi Amoako-Atta said.

Please government pay school feeding, the women are suffering, Madam Otiko they say the money is with you. Pay if not the will stop serving the children.
This is about the 4th time I am hearing this news since last year. Please tell this minister to stop talking and move into action. There is no need to make an announcement if work is not ready. Ministers and public officials should know that whatever they say carries weight so they should know when to make certain announcement and stop making false hope.
