Madam Beatrice Oppong Martin, mother of sensational dancehall artiste, Ebony Reigns who died exactly a week ago has visited the scene of the accident to ascertain things for herself.
The grief-stricken woman who is yet to come to terms with the death of her last born in the gory accident a week ago while returning to Accra from Sunyani visited the scene with members of Ashanti Regional Security Council.
It would be recalled that Ebony Reigns and two others including her personal bodyguard who is a soldier and close pal died in the accident at Nyamebekeyre close to Mankranso in the Ahafo Ano South District of the Ashanti Region.
Ebony’s black Jeep vehicle with registration number AS 497-16 collided head-on with a KIA Grand Bird VIP bus with registration number GT3232-17 from the opposite direction.
Her mother who until recently was in the UK appealed to contractors to execute work given to them properly to avoid a recurrence of what befell her daughter.
“I appeal to the government, head of institutions and the road contractors across the country to do their works with due diligence to avoid unnecessary accidents that claim lives on our roads. If the contractor on this road (the spot of the accident) has sped up work, my daughter might not have died. “She said.
Chairman of Ashanti Regional Security Committee and Minister, Simon Osei Mensah disclosed that their visit to the scene of the accident was to get firsthand information on the occurrence that occasioned the death of the musician.
“We have heard some many stories in the media concerning the death of Ebony and three others at this spot. Some people are saying the accident was caused by the negligence of the road contractor working here, so we are here to access the situation ourselves to help in our investigation,” he said.
“We will do whatever we can to address the situation here. A lot of lives have been lost on this road because of its sharp curve and we cannot sit down on concern,” he disclosed.

Mr Allen Ebony's deputy manager claims Ebony called to informed him in the night that she was travelling to the North this means Ebony is seeking a permission from her Bosses and now I want to find out from Mr Allen that the following day that was Thursday 1)Did Mr Allen called Ebony to find out weather she was able to reach her destination? 2)As a deputy manager the life of Ebony was at your hands did you immediately call your boss to informed him? 3)At that moment Ebony was vulnerable so its becomes your duty to protect her at all cost 4)you did a bad job by not even trying to at least tell her to wait for you to see her so that you can know what exactly is going on because u knew there is a trip at hand? 5)Mr Allen you betrayed your boss and Ebony u didn't care about her at that moment
COLONIAL MENTALITY AND SLAVERY IS KILLING AFRICANS ALL OVER THE WORLD. CORRUPT ADMINISTRATIONS , INCOMPETENT GOVERNMENTS, BAD INFRASTRUCTURE, CORRUPT POLICE ADMINISTRATION ETC.
No, nobody is talking about a state burial for Ebony, except for you and a few Katamansonians.
Wow....VIP???????????????They are also talking of State burial??????????????????
Negligence and stubbornness is wat is killing us. Road worthy is taken to mend our roads right? If i dont pay the police will arrest me, so who should i take to court if a bad road causes accidents. Some leaders are very ssstupid. I was happy wen it was announced that tricycles carrying garbage should not be allowed to ply the Accra Tema motorway but they are still doing it and i have not heared any of them being taken to court. Meanwhile they pay toll fee to someone before using the road are we normal?? Commen sense is not working here in ghana.
Ghanaian contractors are lazy, this is a country that has it's laws on a paper. Come and do that in a developed country with tax payers money and you will see who born dog
Misplaced priorities. If it were to be a cocoa nut seller that died in this accident, will the regional security council visit the scene? Is it the first death that has occurred at the spot? We make fun fare of very serious issues that needs urgent attention. I hope this visit will not be the last to all accidents scenes no matter who is involved.
Ashanti Regional Security? How? I mean, how??? Ghana paa!
Ghana is just one shïtthole country....hands down!!!
THIS TIME WE SHOULD NOT SAY "WE GIVE IT TO GOD" OR "GOD KNOWS BEST" AND THE LIKE. THE SYSTEM HAS TO WORK. HOW DID THE CONTRACTOR LEAVE A HEAP OF SAND ON THE ROAD? WHY DID THE HIGH WAYS PEOPLE NOT SEE THAT? HOW COME THE POLICE COULD NOT SEE IT AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT? PLEASE NO ONE SHOULD TELL ME THAT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THEN WE BETTER SHUT THESE AGENCIES DOWN AND LIVE IN CHAOS. GOD IS NOE TIRED OF US. WE ARE NOT USING THE KNOWLEDGE HE SHARED FOR PEOPLE ON EARTH. HE GAVE IT IN ABUNDANCE BUT WE REJECTED IT AND STILL REJECT IT IN FAVOUR OF THEW OBINIMS. OH LORD FORCE THE KNOWLEDGE DOWN OUR HEADS AS WE ARE UNABLE TO SEE IT AND PARTAKE IN IT.
